all this talk about creepy all the time is ridiculous.
at the end of the day if you're not stealing her underwear and taking pictures while she's sleeping then it's fine. some bloke at my work was obsessed with this girl at my work. she said he took pictures while she was sleeping. I cracked up, she wasn't impressed. that's creepy this is just fun.

Ethically, it's whether you use something to intentionally manipulate someone through deception or not. If there's no intention then it's fine, people will try to kid themselves though which isn't cool. If something did end up going somewhere fessing up is a must.
Not quite sure how that conversation would go - "Hey you know all those things I said that made you talk to me? It was all bollocks, I researched your likes and dislikes and then posted things with the intention of catching your attention" ...It could probably be spun a little better.
