The self made man has sacrificed a lot, whereas the lottery winner has sacrificed nothing. Score 1-0 to the lottery winner. But they both have the money, score 2-1 to the lottery winner. But the self made man has gained skills the other lacks consciously. 2-2.

So it’s a draw in the end?

It’s a mistake to say you guys are necessarily naturals though, I agree with that as naturals wouldn’t even know of this site. But you knock out strong realities through experience and having worked on yourselves, which can be misperceived if you’re suffering from cognitive dissonance.

I live in cognitive dissonance lately, which is annoying but at least I’m aware of it, ‘cos I’ve not yet hit the tipping point where the new reality is stronger than the old. Surely though this is an automatic tendency that you develop out of, rather than conscious stupidity.

You can lose mone, you can't lose a skill, plus the self made man has the potential to make more money. Unless the lottery winner spends all of his money on more lottery tickets he's doesn't have the same chance as the self made man.
