Hi Guys,

One of the clubs I go to has 2 bars, one by the dance floor which has high energy people (too loud to talk) & one by the entrance, which is good before the dance floor curtains opens because the music is quieter and the best time you can open and talk to sets in the club.

There's 3 areas I see for opening

1. Smoking area
2. dance floor (dance game)
3. main entrance bar (lower energy)

Towards the end of the night area 3 does have the odd attracive sets hanging around there, but I notice most of them look miserable as fuck.

Do you approach girls differently based on their current preassumed state using social intelligence or just open the same way and reaction no differently?

i just dont approach girls who are texting, if they are texting, it means there pretty much deep enuf involved with a lad that means they wana be texting rather that dancing with their mates...

if thats the case, u have NO chance! ... unless u maybe called them on why they r textin and not havin fun!!

Yeah well you'd have the shields up too if you'd been harassed all night by umpteen drunken idiots.

Go banter with an adjacent set, or the bar staff, or whatever. Let them see you being fun and natural...then transfer and open the set.

For me, I'd like to trust my instincts and my impressions about people, but I can't always do so because my brain would still rather I lead a careful little guarded life mainly in my own head. So when these impressions come up, just be mindful that it's partly based on truth, and partly your mind looking for a way to protect the old identity.

Phil, very good point made there, they could possibly be texting their BFs. That idea didnt pass my mind, but I won't use it as an excuse not to approach. I'll open a nearby set in close proximity first and see what happens.

I've tried something similar before where I saw a bunch of girls all on there mobiles and opened with something like:

"Guys, whats going on here, what are you doing all on your mobile phones" (with a smiley face) and got a friendly response.

Last nights scenario however, neither of them were on their phones.

I've also tried busting girls bulls for being low energy like:

"guys, why aren't you on the dance floor, come on get up" (which never seems to work).

I'm starting to have the new mindset that if I see a set which looks awkward to open due to certain situations then they would have been hit on less times than other girls giving me an edge if I do open.

Anymore Ideas, please let me know.

whenever there is a group of girls doin somethin like this, all texting... ive done it before (not just texting anything as a group)

i just sit & copy them...

like i would sit with my phone and start textin...

and say... oh hang on(look confused) is this not the texting club meeting??

oh i assumed u all got the memo!! .... well there was a memo.

if they are cool ur in with them all, if they are thik and have no funny bones, just say

Call me, start laffin, then walk away

...my point being that you might be projecting onto them that they are miserable, when in fact they might not be, people will surprise you.

FUCK IT dont be affraid of opening anyone. TAKE WHATS YOURS

If they look miserable the 'do you iron' opener usually works a treat.
