Nope, she was sat in a standard chair.

I got her number more as a trophy for me, just as a reminder that I can talk to girls.

This was probably about as successful as my sarge got, certainly the highlight of the trip. BUT I did try a few things with a couple of girls. So will list who I spoke to;
1. Outward bound train girl HB 6.5 as previously mentioned
2. One girl HB 5 I asked outside of Holborn tube 'do you know how much minimum national wage is'... as i geniunely wanted to find out but wanted to ask as opposed to iPhone.
3. One girl HB 7, same location, I asked the same question who look geniunely flattered I ask her as I said 'you look very business like, any idea what the miniumum national wage is' and she gave me a very consice answer. I thanked her as I disappeared into the tube station, not before turning around and shooting her a grin to see her reaction and to my suprise she was smiling staring up from her phone at me. Kinda regretted not doing anything else with her.
4. Paddington station I saw a girl (HB 4) eating a burger king and proclaimed 'something tells me your train isn't for a while' and straight away she got defensive; 'Not really, I can eat pretty quickly' which made an akward silence for a few seconds before I asked what she was doing in London blah blah, basically I got up and left because she wasn't giving me anything and she was not hot at all.
5. Upstairs bar in Paddington station, went to the bar and saw a girl (HB 7) with a suitcase, approached whilst the barman sorted me out with a pint of fosters. She had 2 drinks, a pint and a 1/2 I asked if she was an alcoholic and she replied warmly with, yeah, the 1/2 is whisky. After a bit more probbing she revealed the pint was for her BF who was in the toilet (shit).

For the rest of my time in Paddington, about 1 hr, there were no girls I could see worth talking to, or there were but they would zoom through quickly OR I wasn't able to latch onto an opener quickly enough.

I didn't talk to any girls on the return journey as it was packed and no one wants to be judged by talking to a stranger in those situations (unless its a club).

All in all, today was about forcing myself into conversations with girls regardless of the outcome and as a result I well much more confident. NOW I want to go out with a wing (as I can instantly see how much easier this would be as well as being seen as more socially acceptable toward girls, as opposed to the creepy wierdo that does it himself ). Still not comfortable AT ALL about approaching sets.

Looks like a defensive reaction because she didn't want to get locked into a conversation with some potentially weird stranger for a long period of time. Setting a time constraint of having to meet friends soon or only having a couple of minutes appeared because of this kind of reaction, you basically did the opposite.

Not everyone is instinctively defensive like that though. No big deal.

I don't really see how she was being defensive, but hey I can't hear the tone of her voice. I guess you statement to her didn't give her much to go on. Perhaps she knew you weren't all that interested in her, so why should she bother either.


I don't see anything creepy about approaching a girl you like on your own. What role would you see your wing performing in this day game senario?

Agreed. I found this useful when I used to go out round the city centre with Dolphin Dave. You can egg each other on and assess each other's performance from afar. It's a damn good afternoon out actually
