@Craigus - the girl you describe acts very similar to the one in question. She's texting me a lot and she's texting me like I'm her BF. But I've never met her or even heard her voice. I find the situation too weird. I ain't prepared to spend months sending pointless text/msn messages to her in the hope that one day she'll snap out her paralyzing shyness to meet me for a drink.

@kowalski - I think your assessment of her is quite astute. Your question is very pertinent as well (cheers). At this moment in time, I don't know how broken she is. But if she's as broken as I fear, then I'm not prepared to try and fix her. If she's only a little messed up, then I will perservere with her for a week and try to influence her mindset and attitude if possible. I'll determine how fucked up she is the next time I speak to her online.

I think you've spent enough time on her already to be honest maestro. If I were you, I'd draw a line under this one and move on. Go find someone else to spend time on. Don't even tell her you're doing it. Cease all contact, and focus elsewhere.

If she comes back, then by all means, pursue and tell her you're not someone who fucks around. Either you meet up for real, in a safe, public place (or you can just shove her in the back of your van - your call), or you make it clear that you've got other things to worry about elsewhere.

Of course, the danger with this is that she might decide she doesn't want to meet up with you, and you may no longer have her as an option. C'est la vie. 2,999,999,999 other humans out there with fannies and boobs. Go find one of them to bonk who deserves your attention.

Although one of them is Ann Widdecombe. Maybe swerve her.
