Just to quickly mention, me and sam have started experimenting with recording audio while in set for later analysis on content and voice tonality. I'm using my new standard nokia handset on voice record with a hands free kit.

This gets around the concealed mic problem as it is pretty normal for someone to have a pair of headphones on them for mp3 etc. Doesnt matter that the kit is visible. The phone records to micro SD card and can store atleast 2hours of audio. I recorded an hour as a test and the file was 5.5mb. compact!

The phone also has a micro usb port so I can transfer files to my computer with a single cable. Piece of piss. Could be pretty useful as I have already gleaned that I need to put more emotion and pitch range into my voice and to speak more slowly. (I tend towards monotoning unexpressive voice pattern sometimes, not very gripping to listen to.)

Yeah you'll need a microphone that can filter out some of the ambient noise from the bar, people talking behind you music etc will make the sound quality very bad.

not really guys u can use logic & filter most frequencies out!!

just take anythin over 3500 and under 300... that should keep all the other shit out

I'm probably going out tonight to test it fully infield. wouldnt work in a club but in a bar the sound is pretty good. Only picks up myvoice and noise nearby thats infront of me. I imagine there's going to be a tad more pressure to run slick game so that it sounds good when we play it back. could be a good thing. I'll let you know how it goes.

No wings to go out with tonight so went to tesco and recorded my visit. Was actually fucking fun, I was speaking to staff about random crap to get more of my voice on tape. Feels like making a documentary. Am going to start recording evrytime I go out to get used to doing it. Walked past a load of people wearing/carrying headphones whilst there.. completely normal.
