All the online sites I use - Match.com etc -- have searches done where age is included - I am 49 and want to date 38-42 - my profile never shows up on their searches - they seem to look only up to 45-46-
My profile works great for 47-54 plenty of female emails to me - 1-2 dates a week but no matter how good they seem ---in person they are just too old to me- personal preference.
I don't want to start out with a lie and use a lower age.
My approach emails to women in my target group go unanswered & I am trying everything - long, short, funny, a little cocky, challenges, cliff hanger questions, "feeling" their interests. Not saying they are all very good but nothing seems to work-- I really think it has been the age thing.
I think if I posted my profile the same & said I was 44 or 45 I would do fine.

This is actually 2 problems -
1- almost technical - if women 38-42 put their search at
ages under mine - they never see me - so my great profile doesn't help there at all.
2- if they insist that is their age limits - how do I in an email overcome this. I have discussed this with women & in person they don't think I am that old & I can overcome the objections but on the internet how do I do it. Do I bring it up? The same things that work when I am in their target range are not working when I am older than their range.
