Hey guys,

The Annihilation Method is a DVD series released by Neil Strauss which was filmed a few weeks after The Game was first released. I've never heard of anyone that's actually watched it, but it's by far my favorite piece of pickup material I've seen outside of The Game. Has anyone else seen it? And if so what do you think?

I have seen half hour sections of this series, but it never grabbed my attention like the Blueprint did. You say compare the difference between how the audience behave in the Blueprint, but we don't get to see what happens to those individuals after they have genuinely applied Tyler's teachings do we? If anything The Blueprint is not there to change a bunch of chodes over a single wkd. It is a way of thinking that needs to be applied to life in the real world over a longer period, this was my experience anyway. From what I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) Strauss is dealing with the surface of the problems like posture, voice projection, what clothes you wear.

Yeah i've seen it and like Nova I can't say it struck me in the same way the Blueprint did. The Blueprint for me is still the best thing i've come across in terms of 'pick-up' tutoring.

The Annilation method is a watered down and more realistic version of MM essentially. When he talks about concepts beyond pick-up i.e. actually building a life for yourself, that is the most profound topics of discussion. Thing's like teaching them the 'cologne opener' and 'lieing game' are completely superflous, it's during those moments I begin to cringe.

I have watched this series a few times now. Its one of the earliest materials I used. I think its OK. Yes he does teach routines, but then again I believe there is a place for routines in the game - it depends who your audience is.

If I was teaching a bunch of guys who had no game whatsoever, it would be reasonable to give them a few routines to get them started.

However I have read The Game Kowalskis comment made me laugh hard

Pretty much sums up manipulitive nature of hardcore routines

However the bit that got me was where he was writing the book on his laptop whilst in bed with a women and the passage read something like

KVJIFJVIFKDMC OEKCDOC OFKVFMC

And he justified it by saying he kept it in for authenticity,

WTF!!!!!!!!! Hit that backspace and get it typed up properly you cocksplat!! Anyone would of thougt it was the only time you got laid or something.......

I've only seen a few youtube videos of the annihilation method, but it seemed to me that it was a lot of the same stuff he talked about in the book 'The Game', which I'd already read, so I didn't bother watching any further vids.

Personally, I like Neil Strauss. What if he had never written 'The Game'?! I for one would not be here, on this journey were it not for his book. How many people here are here because they've read 'The Game'?

I agree that there are contradictions, for instance, when he promotes being your best self etc, but then teaches routines. But the fact is that a lot of people are not confident enough, and even lack the ability to begin with, to approach a woman and have a normal conversation and a flirt.

To a degree, I think that if you're a person who has almost never approached a woman (for whatever underlying reasons), then that causes you doubt your ability to do it - to attract an attractive woman, or even hold a conversation with one. By using routines and canned material, it proves that you can do it - that you are capable of approaching a woman and having a fun interaction and flirt etc. Once you make this realization, then I think it makes the transition to more natural game more possible, or at least seem more possible.
