Being a beginner at this I would just like to get some feedback about negging.

My anxiety is negging some girl then getting a slapped in the face or a drink poured over me, so I'm kinda reluctant to do it.

What is considered too much? Does anyone have any bizarre stories regarding negs?

Negging is a completely misunderstood idea.

The general idea of negging in PUA is to say something to basically show the girl u are not that interested or her a puppy dog.

Well first off, being interested in a girl, and her knowing it is important... its called chemistry. U just need to know how to avoid doting on her and having a mind frame that allows u to take it or leave it.



What do i perceive a neg as? or what have i re defined it as?

be nice, its fine but don't just agree with everything she says(unless u actually do)

If she likes west life... pull her up on it.

if she says something dumb... say "oh, no you really didn't just say that did you... coz u lose some cool for that"

then just let if go.

I am a beginner as well, but I do know this: if she feels offended to the point of slapping you after you "negged" her, then you did it wrong! In other words, you didn't neg her, you just quite simply insulted her!

I may not be an expert pua but I can spot a good neg when I hear it. The one example that made me start actually understanding the concept of neg is the following.

Compliment a girl on her nails by saying, "I like your nails (and some specific comment about them). Are they yours?" Usually, they aren't so they'll say "No... (and then they usually explain why they got them done or where or something)" See, they immediately feel like apilogizing because they're not their actual nails. When they say that you say, "Oh, they're still cool".

It's really subtle but THAT's why they work. If you do one of the more blunt negs she has to know you're the playful kind. But if you stick with the subtle ones then you'll be fine.

The concept of negging is often used in a context that for me implies you are trying to "trick" the girl in some way into liking you. Whereas you would be better off developing your own skills in such a way that you can demonstrate your value more effectively and therefore making her feel as if she needs to compete or validate herself. Although negative comments in a jokey context are something I've found extremely effective, I personally stay away from anything too harsh.
