Well guys, I have met quite a few of you now, including on Friday night (28th Aug.) when I broke into new territory of actually approaching girls (woot!).

Met Jynx, Tom, Sapmi and many others in the Font somtime after 11. Watched some in action, got some pep-talks and had a bit of a laugh. I can't remember approaching in there, but one of my young wings opened a cute blonde, introduced me then disappeared. Had a nice, comfortable chat. She asked questions about me, offered to buy me a drink, and said we should meet up in Space in a bit (crikey, that went a bit well - took me a bit by surprise; I didn't feel I had earned it!).

Anyway, left there to head for the NQ with two young wings (don't know their super-hero names) who became a constant thorn in the side of my lameness. We then opened a series of goth sets, with random things like "what's is the best club in Manchester to go to tonight" and "who's your favourite member of S-club 7". One dude got really pissed off and another 2-set argued about it for ages - we left them still discussing it.

The NQ was all shutting down by this time so we ended up in some place in Printworks, wasn't feeling it, didn't approach, a couple of interactions didn't go too well for the young wings (including one being dismissed by a Sammy Davies Junior lookalike for saying hello).

We left, I winged on one set outside, then pretty much called it a night.

So, not a huge amount to write home about really but I did lose my approach cherry, saw it all in action, some good and bad interactions; lots of stuff to build on.

Thanks to everyone who encouraged me. I am keen to build on this ASAP.

Schmoot aka big dave, it was cool hanging out with you last night. That first bar we went in, we were getting so many iois from that 3 set- great body language, eye contact, etc-- I really should have opened them, but alas I was in chode mode.

Next venue was better, I opened the 2 set smoking outside with your genius material. Lol. That set went really well and you winged it excellently. Seriously your wingmanship is great.

In the final bar, you opened the set with the Argentinian. Damn she was cute. After you bailed to the loo, I went in with the same opener, totally forgot that you might have used it! She was like...
"Yeah I've just been asked that"
me... "Yeah was it the tall guy? He's my friend- he thinks there totally gay!". Cue lots of laughter. After that the set opened right up, got lots of kino from both of them. Bit of a language barrier with the cute Argie though. We should have bounced them to the seating area. Nevermind.

All in all, I enjoyed myself on the night. You're good company.

I was going to ask you about winging the Argy and her friend....I wasn't sure how to play it. I thought you might have been freezing the other one out as I thought she was the hotter so I didn't want to let her off the hook. At the same time I didn't want to bust in on the conversation with the Argy (I have a strange romantic notion about Argentina) as it was your current set.

I should probably just have opened some other set...

Nice one! Sounds like you are progressing nicely from what I saw of you you weren't lame at all. Even having the balls to improve yourself and meet up with us shows you are not lame, you didn't just do that you winged and opened.
