Is there anyone out there who is having much success with cold approach day game? Any f-closes resulted out of it? I would love to be good at it, especially since I've stopped drinking. It's quite new to me.

I went out just now (alone), with the express purpose of doing five cold approaches. My first approach was a 2 woman set. I went for an opinion opener, to do with Christmas presents for my sister. They gave me a monosyllabic answer and then opened the door to what must have been their apartment and slammed themselves firmly (and safely) inside.

Following this I felt disheartened (it in no way desensitised me). I feel uncomfortable annoying people in the street. It reminds me of door to door sales.

I feel much more natural opening people in a social environment. Any good openers or tips? I guess direct is better (but not too direct).

I can go out clubbing completely sober, I can be up on the dance floor as if I were pissed so don't let the drink thing worry you.

Similar rules apply for openers, time constraints and spontainous converstaion. Alot of it is in your head I think, it just seems easier at night because people are naturally more reseptive.

The thing with the day game is alot more people are out with a purpose so aren't really open for an interruption. If you can just find the right girls I'm sure you'll be just as successful.

I actually do have a sister and I am unsure what to get her. I spent time thinking of an opener that I could be congruent with. However, you are right that I couldn't give a toss what these girls think about that.

I used to do cold approaches in the street, as a teenager, all the time, but it was very different. I was approaching teenage girls (which I wouldn't do now) and it was normal for young scallies to be hanging out and even drinking in the street. I was extremely direct and had some luck with it.

What is a good opener and approach for me now, in the street?

Yeah, I think you just have to be a bit better judge of how someone else will react to you.

Sometimes people will be much more shy in the day, remember in the night they're round there friends having fun and probably a bit tipsy. If you approach in the day they might be a little unnerved an worried about how to respond therefore just appear rude and run away.

May well not be what you did, may well just be there shiness. As above though don't be disheartened. I just think it's going to take that little bit more effort and attempts to ge the hang on judging the situation.

Actually I'm wondering about this, we say in the night scene you should be approaching sets for various reasons, but I'm just thinking perhaps singles would be better for day game.

Think about a situation you see a girl browsing round a shop I think she might be more reseptive to you then say 2 or 3 girls shopping because they're not looking to be entertained.

Okay, I made some baby steps forward today. This time the five sets that I opened smiled, laughed and did not run away.

I was speaking with my mate and we were asking ourselves, "What do Italians like to talk about most?" The answer of course is food and clothes.

I went out for a day sarge on my own. For the opener, I decided to ask, "Excuse me, in your opinion, where can I find the best ice-cream in Palermo?"

Two of the sets were actually walking away from me as soon as they heard the words, "Excuse me." I just stood firm and continued to talk loudly. As soon as they heard the magic word "ice-cream" they turned around, smiling. Next I asked them if they could recommend a flavour, which got them laughing and discussing with each other.

I opened one girl who turned out to be from Portugal, so clearly she was not able to advise me but it led on to a conversation and introduction. I told her that we would probably see each other around, as she was an Erasmus student. I would have taken it a step further but I got interrupted by someone asking me for directions.

I'm going to go out and do it again later and then I'm gonna go and get an ice-cream so that I feel congruent. Lol
