I went back out there today (it's at least good exercise walking around the city) and did another five approaches. The first one was just spontaneous; I saw a woman wearing a hat that I liked and asked her where she got it from. I couldn't really find away of pushing the conversation forward after she told me.

I approached another four sets just using the same ice-cream opener as yesterday. At the moment I'm just working on tonality and BL for day time approaches.

I told a girl she had nice eyes (they were green, which is rare here). She smiled and said thanks. I realised immediately that I had said it too fast. I kind of blurted it out really and then said bye and walked away rather too quickly. Next time, I'll just say it slowly and stand firm.

I need to work on pushing the conversation forward after the opener. A couple of sets told me they were not from Palermo, so that automatically led onto, "Oh, where are you from?"

Perhaps it's just better to walk up and say, "Hey, I think you're really pretty. I would be kicking myself all day if I didn't find out who you are."

Baby steps, baby steps...

I went out daygaming a couple of weeks ago for the first time. The rule was 'direct only' and for silliness, only those wearing hats in the mall.

Did loads of approaches, no rejections.

Indirect seems too woolly for daygaming.

With regards to openers. You need to get into the frame of mind of being spontaneous in these situations. 9 times out of 10 the girl won't even register your first few words as she comes out of her zone of shopping or whatever she is doing. So gain her attention and move forward from there.

Openers mean really nothing. Go up and say hello, smile, have good energy, confidence and body language and you'll go anywhere. I don't do much day game, but the few times I've done it now, it's no different than night game except for the targets are less expecting of a pick up.
