Is what Piers did really so bad? You're out with your mate - you've had a few beers, he makes a play - you back him up 100%. Isn't that what mates are for? How can you be friends with someone if they don't back you up 100% without judgment? Back in Oz I had some pretty stupid friends - I backed them up in fights when they were in the wrong and once I was taken back with them to a police station for their stupidity.* Obviously there are limits (if they picked up an underage girl or something) but I reckon if you're out with your mates your first instinct should be to back them up. Then later on if you want you can give them your opinion on what they did or limit/finish your friendship -then that's fine. But I think I probably would have done what Piers did

ye, backin ur mates up in a fight is fine, you have to... but would u jump all over someone's head with all ur mates just coz they are doin it... there is a diff between a fight and bullying, and what they did to the guy was bullying. and if one of my mates is a bully... he isnt my mate for long, my morals are not brought into question by the stupidity of a friend.

I am now in an LTR, and pretty damn happy about it; I do not venture elsewhere, though I will happily flirt and chat away, perhaps the innocent dance.

Some crazy, pretty hot HB8 was doing the rounds in a bar in London recently and everytime she got a little close for my moral comfort I would move away, conveniently to some of my mates who happened to have shots ready... Course it just drove her mad for more; she would come back, grab my tie, pull it off, wrap it round my neck and reel me in... I would dance, and kino, but nothing escalating... She still managed to plant a peck on my lips as she was leaving...

But, if my LTR had been there it would have been a no go, of course!

If it was a PUA that managed to get her to do it, however unlikely it seems that she would, then I would pretty much think lowly of them. It is a misuse of skills, and most likely violence would ensue. Either that or I'd have to brush out the cobwebs of any area in my brain where I was used to approaching and do my own damage...

(Also, side note: I went to another bar in London and a girl kept exchanging glances with me... about 2/3 of the way through the night she just comes up to me; I'd talked to her friends but not her... and she says "I'm ready to go home; I really like you..." at which point I ended up just being brutally honest and saying that if it was "another time and place I would have been over ages ago, but I'm in a LTR...")

First of all, I would like to think that any girl I chose wouldn't cheat on me and that my relationship game is tight. And if she did - I would be HAPPY, because I would be removing a negative girl that didnt love me from my life. Because if she cheated on me and I found out about it, she would definitely be cheating a lot more behind my back. I wouldn't want a girl like that in my life and I'd be very very happy to have her out of it.


As an aside lads, I was a little disappointed when I read this thread. I thought that the forum was a "safe" place where people could post about their lives without (too much) judgement. There were a lot of negative posts directed at Piers and I felt that they weren't all warranted. We're all in this together and we should be trying to help each other with positive comments and encouragement. If you look at what Piers did, he backed a mate, maybe not in the best way but he did back him and he should be congratulated on his loyalty to his friends.

I think Piers should have backed his friend by telling him not to behave like a douche, and go for a single target?
