Default Two months - One itis - 02-12-2010, 12:28 AM

Ok, so this is my first proper post on here. I have a bad case of oneitis at the minute so I'll start at the beginning....

Around September time I was working long days watching a door so read The Game on recommendation from a friend. At the end of this week I finished the book and was planning on trying out what I'd learned at my friends fancy dress party.

I decided peacocking was a good idea and didn't drink anything. The party was so much fun as I spoke to so many different sets, had girls swapping fancy dress props etc. with me and quite a few IOIs.

To cut a long story short I ended up spending the majority of the night with a girl I've worked with for about 4years, she broke up with her bf of four years in January and although there was always 'something' there we never acted on it.

So after this night I started seeing her more outside of work, nothing more than friends but it was cool for the minute.

So one day I'd gotten some free tickets to Alton towers, I'd invited a couple of mates, a different girl I liked AND the girl from the party.

My friends kept taking the piss cos I was having to work on both of them (sometimes at the same time) but by the end of the day they were competing for my attention!

That night we took everyone home and I was left with the girl from the party, we watched movies, made out and fooled around till 4am then she left saying she wanted to take things slow.

She shit tested A LOT before we got to sex. My favourite was when she stopped just before, I said ok, got up and checked my emails, she was gobsmacked and came straight over for more attention!

So then the sex and all that was out of the way there was definitely something there and it was going well with her.

Then out of nowhere after about a month of seeing each other she went very quiet with me and basically told me that although she really likes spending time with me, she's not over her ex (who cheated on her a lot).

She said that she might have a revelation one day and want to see me again but to be honest that's a bit unfair on me just waiting for something that might never happen.

I think the fact that I know she likes me is what's causing my oneitis but it's been 4weeks and I'm sick of it. We still talk and see each other most days at work which doesn't make it any easier. I'd love to just delete her number and forget it but we share lots of the same friends and it would just make things awkward

Any advice or similar situations would be much appreciated!

Ha ha yeah ....NEXT! Keep your power for yourself mate. Sounds to me like she's the one losing out here.

As soon as you start seeing other new girls, it's funny how the ones you thought you had a connection with just fade away into the background.

Literally just had a similar thing happen to me. Cure that one-itis (like Ice says, new girls are the best remedy) and and move on my friend, those girls that are still hung up on their ex's aren't worth the torment.

Also, it can come off a little childish deleting contact numbers etc. but I find it works for me. Just make sure you stick to your guns, you're gonna look foolish trying to get her number again.

Man I was just thinking about posting up my own story which relates to yours.

Couple of months ago I met a girl off plenty of fish. Over the course of 4 dates, we got along brilliantly, made each other laugh all the time, went on cool dates, slept together - the whole shabang.

I wasn't looking for anything realtionship-wise, but couldn't help picturing a bit of a future with her just because it all seemed so right.

Anyway, after not seeing each other for a few weeks, she texts me to say she's sorry, she's met someone else, doesn't want to see me etc.

I was fucking GUTTED. Couldn't see the logic at all - i was totally convinced we were a perfect pair. Properly twisted myself up over it for nearly a month.

The best thing I did? Delete her number and texts off my phone.

Holding on to them is just holding on to the idea that she might come back to you. That's weak, and probably part of the trait in you that puts a girl off in the first place.

Forget about it. Like Phil said - Ctrl-Alt-Delete and start afresh.

There are other girls out there that are
A: Better looking
B: Better in bed
C: Funnier
D: More compatible with you

One-itis ocurrs I think because you feel like there won't be anyone to compare to the last one. Funny thing is, they're often better.

True story

sack her off and just find other girls. It's funny how when they see you interacting with other women, their opinion changes of you.

Dude, you banged her; mission successful. Had you known it was going to end up like this from the beginning you would have still taken it, right?

There are probably people out there that envy what you DID have with her and for sure if she does get back with her ex, he will always harbour some jealousy towards you.

You haven't lost out on anything really. She probably just invested loads in her ex. It's fucking really hard to win a bird over when she is still in love with another guy. You did well getting as far as you did.
