I think you are right when you say 'it seems i really do have insecurities on how i look'. I'd start considering what actually attracts a girl to an average looking guy, even an ugly looking guy and then put these fears in perspective. To me, it is these very doubts that are causing the falling away of attraction on the girl's part, and not actually the way you look.

Adam, I don't get this insecurity thing about your looks. You look damn fucking cool and you're a good looking guy. HB 9 at least! lol.

Ever considered that your looks might actually intimidate some women?? Coupled with going direct might be too much for some women to handle, their ASD kicks in and they think 'Player' and shut you down as a knee-jerk reaction.

I'm not saying you should not go direct, hell no, that is awesome. Just something to bear in mind perhaps.
