Midweek Sarge Report - Tuesday - Venue - Yates, Verve Bar, Roadhouse

Went out with Juice last night in Central London for a Tuesday night session. Having been out sarging in the west end on a Tuesday before there is always the problem of finding places to go that will have enough targets and that wont mean that you have to stay out till 3AM in the morning ( a day in the office after one of these nights is NOT pleasant! )

After meeting we went on a bit of a crawl trying to find suitable bars; however didn't have masses of success as most of them ( Yates, Roadhouse, Verve) were either empty or only had one set in them. I remember reading somewhere that Mystery says that ugly girls if approached enough times will start to act like they are "10"s. We saw this theory in action in Yates as we were standing by the bar there was a blonde & a brunette ( probably 5-6's) who were approached at least 5 times whilst we were there!! ( they blew everyone out) . They were not super hot by any stretch of the imagination but definately had the bitch shield up!!

I was trying to think of a good way to outgame the other guys who had approached these two so thought of trying a line similar to Adam Lyons ( Metagame Theory). Went in there with " We are from the BBC and are filming a documentary about pickup, I noticed that you have been approached a few times and was keen to get your thoughts on how the approaches were? " They laughed at this and were running through the various chat up lines they had been given and also rating them!! The conversation flowed for a while but started to stale so we decided to head onto the next venue!!

( Anyone had much experience using metagame? )

In between bars we did some street approaches mainly by asking for directions or situational openers. Juice had some nice interactions with some Chinese chicks!!

Verve Bar.

We had been in Verve bar earlier in the evening however at the time it had been really dead with only one good set. The set in question were two ( Iranian ? ) girls who were both quite hot. Earlier we had noticed some IOI's from them however for some reason hadn't approached!! They had however seen us chatting to another set close by which may have increased our value!

Anyway we went back there later that evening ( the bar was still dead! ). Almost immediately the two hot girls started waving at us through the glass balcony. Juice went upstairs to approach them and I stayed downstairs and was talking to a random guy about work etc. ( This also seemed to work because it made us appear to know everyone in the bar! )

After a while went up to the balcony and joined them. The dark haired girl was throwing lots of interest into the mix with lines like " I love your rings", "I Love your hair" she then told me how "every guy in the bar fancies her and wants to sleep with her" I told her that I was not that easy and asked her if she was rich as I am looking for a "sugar mummy" and will only sleep with someone who wines and dines me first!!!

This worked well as she laughed a lot and asked me to sit next to her on her seat!! All the time that this interaction was going on Juice was sitting opposite with the other girl occupying her attention and getting lots of Kino by the looks of things!

Anyway it was going well but getting late and unfortunately I had to be in work this morning so number closed with:

"Give me your number and I will give you a call, if we get on well on the phone then perhaps we can meet up"

Worked a treat and got her number straight away!!

On the way home used a text that Bart ( cheers dude!!) gave me to follow her up:

"Hi Brian, I've just met a cute girl in Verve bar but I don't know if I should date her, what do you think? "

Immediate Reply:
I think you've accidentally text the cute girl herself xx

Think that if it hadn't been late I would have gone in for a kclose at least with this girl however sometimes its best to leave it for another time!

I wouldn't have used that text. Why pretend you didn't mean to text her? Girls aren't dumb - she'll be pretty much up to speed on this and will clock that you intended to text that to her.

If some girl sent that to me, I'd text her back and tell her to grow up.

Instant texts after a number close are good, but make them fun. You want the girl smiling even when you're not there. One of my wings uses a text which says, 2 minutes after a number close, 'Shit shit shit, I totally forgot to ask you something. Think carefully before replying, cos its pretty important: which would you prefer to have, jelly legs or spaghetti arms? xx'.

Personally, I go for: "Oh my GOD!!! Who was that really cool, funny, handsome lad you were just talking too? He was AMAZING! xx"


Elsewhere, I've never come across metagame before. But what exactly is meta about pretending to be from the BBC? Unless I've misinterpreted that?

And to return to one of the first points you made. There isn't a set in the world that means you have to stay out until 3am. At any point, with any girl, you can say 'Right, I'm going home now. Give me your number, or you might never see me again, and that'd be a terrible thing for you'.

The Liverpool lads rarely continue sarging beyond 1am, because after this the girls are generally too drunk to be in control of themselves, or to be able to hold a decent conversation.

Definately will take on the board the points about the text. Obviously it worked but there is always room for improvement. I think the main barrier I am trying to overcome is actiing as if you are "the prize" !! ( once again it comes down to state! )

With regards to Metagame. This is something I read about that Adam Lyons (AFC Adam) was developing a theory to apply to game.

I understand it to mean if you are in an environment where there are lots of PUA's you can utilize this to your advantage. E.g if a set has just been approached by a PUA you can then go in after them and construct an opener which utilizes the fact that the girls have been approached already e.g " So looks like you've got yourself a new boyfriend" ( loads of winks, girl signals e.t.c)

Havent really tried this out a whole lot so still learning!! :-)

Does it matter that she knew he sent it on purpose, it seems designed to be that way. No one sends a text like that to their friend. "Hi I met a random person, should we date?"

A girl with half a brain will know it was sent on purpose and play along.

I think it's funny, if a bit risky, in that she may be unsure and not txt back.

But if she gets the joke and plays along; why not?

I don't think it matters because the point of the txt is that she knows it's a joke.

It's risky in the sense she may not txt back, she may not get the joke. But lots of things are risky, it's risky walking into a bar and being yourself.

It's only tactical in so far as it's designed to give her a laugh and build some rapport between you. How is that different to "Who was that hansom guy...."(which I have used a few times)

I think it's funny and I would appreciate a girl who gets the joke. What is she going to call me out on, flirting with her?

Does she know its a joke though? I don't see this as an 'I'm obviously joking' text. I see this as a sneaky text. And going off her response, I don't think she got it as a joke either.

Would it give her a laugh? I really don't think it would. I think she'd be left wondering what nutter she's just given her number too who has to send fake texts.

When I was a kid, 15 years old, I'd routinely text some girl something that 'wasn't meant for you'. I don't really see how this is any different.

It being risky has nothing to do with whether she'll text back or not. If thats the case, then every text you send to any girl you've ever met is risky.

The 'Who was that guy?' text is obviously a joke. And the more cocky you can make it, the better. Its designed to immediately break through the 'awkward first text' thing, and to keep her thinking about you after you've gone.

I don't know how it's sneaky.

Its not a "fake" text it's a very direct text. I think to know it's a joke and appreciate that she needs a degree of social intelligence and confidence. If a girl knows this text is a joke (because it has to be, no one asks a bizarre question like that to their friend - I have just met a cute girl, I am giving you no info about her, but should I date her?!), great, I like her more.

Yeah it's not so obviously a joke as "who was that guy...".

As far as "risky" I defined my use of the word in this case to mean she may not text back. It is exactly as you have said, it is risky in the same sense as every other text is "risky".

The question then is, is there anything (as k would say) inauthentic about it. Are you being yourself or gaming?

And personally I think its funny and would like the girl who gets it. Less girls will respond to it than "who was ..." but that's fine because I like the ones who get the joke.

Yes I agree it was used that way. I was arguing it could be used authentically.


But actually you know what K, I've changed my mind. I was thinking about a girl I met last weekend. Blonde, directs plays. Fancied her. Would I have sent this to her? No, it's lame.

She would have got it sure, but it's still lame. It shows she has a brain but....

And yes I is so named.
