FRIDAY 04/10/13 - INFILTRATING HIPSTERS



I can’t do a full night tonight. I’ve got to do a photoshoot Saturday morning for my new guitar site at 9 the next day. I decide to go out for a beer anyway.

On my way out I notice a massive congregation in my courtyard. Hipsters drinking cans and smoking. They seem to be coming out a building by my block of flats, a nasty looking corrugated iron building which I always assumed was an NHS building or something. I decide to go and check it out.

I go up to a big group of random people and ask what’s going on. They tell me that the biuling is actually full of art studios they all work from, and there’s some bands/arts performances on. I was only going for a quick couple of drinks in central, and I was going solo anyway, so I decide to stick around. I grab some beers from my flat and hang outside chatting with a bunch of people.

I only caught one performance. I was weird. It consisted of 2 girls in togas trying to build a bamboo tent, failing and getting upset about it while dissonant ambient noise played in the background. Fish guts were also involved, but I’m not sure why or how.

I actually briefly have a few people hanging out in my flat upstairs. Some semi famous guitarist from a band I’ve not heard of had a go on one of my guitars. Some girl used my deodorant. Made drinks, a good laugh was had by all. They invite me to a house party out in Peckham, but I’ve got to be up early so I decide not to. I swap numbers with a girl who invites me to another party out in east London the next day. I told her I wasn’t 100% I’d make it, but she said just to stop in at the studio they work in sometime and say hi.

Things like this are one of the great payoffs of going out solo a lot. Being able to just walk up to a big group of people you don’t have much in common with on your own and integrate and connect with them. Most people wouldn’t be able to do that. Good feeling.

SATURDAY 12/10/13 - CHICKEN AND BEER

I didn't bother to write this up last week so I thought I'd do a quick summary now.

So something's been bothering me recently. Something retarded. I've got a few girls on the go right now, and I've hooked up with a couple of girls via tinder, but I realised it's actually been quite a while snce I I just went out and pulled. It almost feels like I hadn't been laid in a while, even though I get laid twice a week at least right now. So I decided to return to my regular bar and do my standard solo night out thing.

I get in and chat with a few people, some eastern european girls, and couple of spanish girls. After about an hour I'm feeling pretty settled in when I get a text from one of my regular girls asking if I'm out. I tell her where I am and she says she's heading there. I'm actually kind of annoyed since I wanted to pull someone new, but I'm not going to be an arsehole and duck her. I'm thinking I might have to quite coming to this place for a while if this keeps happening though, this is like the 3rd time I've had this happen.

She gets there and instantly cheers me up by buying me a pint and giving me a kfc burrito thing she snuck in. We chill a bit and then decide to head back to mine. While she's grabbing her coat this asian girl comes over telling me she's heading off and asking me for my facebook, so I give it to her. My regular girl sees this and it obviously looks bad. I apologise, feeling like a bit of a prick.

FRIDAY 18/10/13 - FRATELLI PRIMA PUTTANE

Last Saturday has made me realise I need some variety. Me and another dude decide to test the water in Shoreditch.

Now I've never really had particularly good nights in Shoreditch (the last time was the French threesome incident). I never understood why though, because it seems great in theory: nice girls, good beer, bar hopping with no cover etc. The only real downside is that a lot of places close at one.

This night was very low key. A few beers, wandering around casually chatting people up. Got a number off some German girl which I forgot to follow up on later.

The only real thing that could have potentially been something was when we were in Electricity showrooms. My mate was downstairs chatting with some people at the bar, so I decided to head to head upstairs and chat with some people. I got chatting with the guy from Croydon. Good guy, turned out he was a guitar teacher like me. He tells me he's here with 2 Italian girls round my age and I should meet them, it almost sounded like a pimp when he said it. They come upstairs and hang out for a while. One of them lives here and speaks good English, the other one is visiting and isn't so good. Both are really hot though. I chat to the one with the bad English, doing what I can to work my way round the language barrier, and it's actually pretty fun. She busts my balls a bit when she finds out I'm from Newcastle. For some reason a lot of people from mainland Europe have seen Geordie Shore.

They say they're going to get food and invite me to come along. I say sure. I can just find my mate when I'm done, he seemed busy anyway. When we can't find anywhere to eat they say they're going to head to central and grab some food on the way home, and try to talk me into coming along. I was kind of in two minds about this, what with shaky logistics and all, but I agree.

My mate starts ringing me and texting me trying to find out where I am. I tell I'm I'm heading to cetral and he tells me he doesn't really know where he is or how to get home. If it weren't for this I would ave gone along with the Italian girls, but I'd feel bad leaving him stranded, especially since coming out here was my idea. I get everyone's numbers and head off. I wasn't even that annoyed about this. It wasn't even a guaranteed pull despite looking good, and there's probably no way I could have pulled the non English speaking girl back to mine, so I'd have had to head out Croydon. I didn't really fancy doing that.

Me and my mate grab another drink when I get back, casually chat with some more people and finish up around half 1. I think Shoreditch will actually be a really cool place to head out once I'm used to it. I'm mainly used to central though, which is a very different environment so it might take a while.

SATURDAY 19/10/13 - BLIND LUCK

So last night I had pretty much the quickest, easiest pull I've ever had.

I'd been out for a low key, uneventful night in Shoreditch the night before. I rarely do more than one night a week now, but I still felt like doing something so I was in two minds about going out again. I figure I'll go out if something comes up.

I get a text from a guy I've been out with once before around 9.45 asking if I'm out tonight and saying he fancies going to Zoo bar in central. I'm not a fan of Zoo bar. It's like a more naff version of Tiger Tiger. It's like a mix of Sodom, Gomorrah and a butcher shop window. I tell him I'll head in but I'm not sure about Zoo.

I don't get in till after 11. I get a text from the guy saying he's already in Zoo. Ugh. I have a serious feeling of can't be arsed at this point, I almost didn't come out. I walk through Leicester Square past drunks, promoters and idiots with a look of distain on my face.

I get there and my mate's in the smoking area, so I head in. After waiting in the queue, getting ID'd and frisked I get in and they tell me it's £15 cover charge for guys after 11. Paying £15 to get into a place I don't even like puts me in an even worse mood. I go get a beer and decide to make the best of it.

I go meet the guy in the smoking area and have chat a bit. This short cute Chinese girl comes up to me and asks for a drag on my cigarette. We get chatting to her and her mate. It turns out both of them are from Hong Kong and had just met that day at a job interview, and they were looking to meet some English guys. They took our numbers and added us on facebook. Both of them were pretty full on and were pretty much gaming us. My mate heads inside with his girl .I stay outside and make out with my girl a bit.

We head inside to grab another drink but she's so all over me that it doesn't happen. Some other guys who were chatting her up before come up and they get brushed off pretty quick. I wish I knew what they'd done because I honestly don't get how you could fuck this one up. She's like getting grabby, telling me she's horny, making out etc.

Now this girl's obviously ready to go and I have no desire to stick around necking on in Zoo bar so I tell her that we should go find our friends then get out of here. Time to make like a tree and go fuck a Chinese girl. When we find them it turns out my mate's already outside of the club with his girl. The girls go and pick up their bags from the cloakroom and me and my mate chat about how easy this was. They get back and we head off.

I check my watch. It's about midnight. It's seriously been about 30-40 minutes since I stepped in the club. I mean this is just lucky but damn, still.

So we get back to mine. She told me in the club she was on her period (slaggish but considerate). I didn't really give a shit so I just laid a towel down. V bloody though, like the scene in the shining with the lift. Normally I'd have another go in the morning but I didn't fancy dealing with that again. SO we just make out and chat a bit. She was asking me questions she'd already asked the night before, she was pretty drunk that night. So after a bit of that I get dressed, grab her number and drop her off at the tube.

I think I've only ever had a couple of times where pullings been at a similar level of quick and easy. It's funny though, I really wasn't going to bother that night. The moral of the story is don't be apathetic, just in case a random Chinese girl want's to fuck you.

FRIDAY 01/11/13 - YET ANOTHER BORING LAY

So tonight I was planning on heading out to a Halloween night in Holloway Rd with an old mate of mine. Sadly she’s recently turned into a hardcore feminist and took issue with me about something a battle rapper wrote on my facebook wall a month ago which she perceived as homophobic. I see this as a clear indicator that she’ll be no damn fun on a night out anymore and decide not to go.

The problem is this leaves me with a full body lycra spiderman venom suit and nothing to do. I decide that I might go out and do my regular Friday night of game in central, and figure that given that things have become pretty monotonous (albeit successful) when I go out, that going out solo on the pull in a spiderman suit might spice shit up.

Serendipity texts me asking me if I’m round, so I decide to go meet him first. I walk down the strand fully spidermanned up, getting a fair bit of attention which was interesting.

I get there and the bouncers tell me they won’t let me in in that shit. This was at a very ‘after work drinks’ kind of bar, so no one else was wearing anything. I can clearly see Serendipity and Smiley K chatting to two girls in the smoking area and try to get their attention. The bouncers see this and let me in on the condition that I don’t fling and webs at anyone.

I meet the two guys and the birds and we all chat for a bit, then we head inside. Don’t know if anyone went for a number or anything. Probs should have, one of them was kind of nice. We hang around, drinking beers, cracking on and chatting about game. Don’t chat to any girls though. I rarely bother before 11, plus my endless ranting about game is always a great way to kick off an evening.

Serendipity and Smiley K head off around 11 and I head to O’Neills.

I get in, crack on with a few people at the bar, grab a beer and head to the smoking area. Up there I chat with a French girl for a while, it seemed to be going pretty well but the headed in with her mates. Big group, so no sense bothering for now. I’ll catch her later.

On my way in I stop and chat to 2 Irish girls. One was way taller than me, a bit gangly like Stephen Merchant. The other one was a blonde girl about my height and pretty nice. The one my size started making comments about how in shape I was and how obvious it was in the costume. Okay, so that made everything pretty simple.
Her mate was asking if any of my mates were around in a sort of ‘you got any fit mates?’ kind of way. Sometimes I’ll just say I’m out solo but ‘out solo in a lycra spiderman costume’ sounds pretty weird. I tell her my mates are somewhere round here but I don’t know exactly.

I’ve noticed that when I chat to two girls and it seems like one of them like me the other girl instantly starts looking for a lad for herself. Either that or they just vanish, which is what eventually happened tonight. I’m not sure what to put this down to, there’s either some code or they can just tell. There’s an Amy Schumer stand-up routine where she explains that girls who cock block guys are acting under orders, and that girls will give their friends one of two looks when a guy is talking to them. ‘I’m gonna fuck him’ or ‘help’. I think there’s something to that.

We go downstairs and grab a drink, and I end up making out with the Irish girl for a bit. I get a call from my mate who I was originally going to go out with who’s drunkenly being apologetic. I tell the girls that my mates are calling and head out to take the call.

When I get back, Irish girl is there and her mate’s nowhere to be seen. I tell her my mates have headed off but I thought I’d stick around. We get another drink and some shots then go looking for her mate. She’s completely vanished, probs with a guy. This happens. After a while of wandering about and a couple more drink I suggest heading back to mine, and we do.

Back home. Sex. Standard. She heads off early the next day, apparently has work. I have a motherfucker of a hangover for some reason.

THOUGHTS AND A GENERAL UPDATE

The last post I put up was my most recent night out doing game. Since then I’ve really not been bothered about doing pickup.

I’ve noticed over the past couple of months that the appeal of going out and doing pickup has been dying off a bit for me, despite the fact that I’ve been getting laid a lot. I guess now that it feels like such a low pressure thing for me I don’t really see the thrill in it anymore. In an odd way the really fun thing about doing something like this is going out, figuring stuff out, taking risks and making a dick out of yourself now and then. Sure, I could maybe try and push it even further. The thing is that while I’m sure there’s tons of room for my game to be better I don’t really think I’d ever feel the need to get laid more often than I already have been.

I’ll obviously be out doing this kind of thing again, but I think I need a cooling off period. I’m in the middle of a really hard training program getting ready for the job as a Krav instructor, and I’ve been hanging out with one of the girls I’ve been seeing a lot more, so for the time being I might just put game on the back burner. Maybe come out now and then if I feel like it, but just relax for a bit and focus on other stuff. The girl’s leaving the country come December, so maybe round then I might feel a bit recharged and ready to go. Till then I’m pretty content.

In the mean time I’ll stick up any fun or interesting stuff that may happen on here: Gym drama, thoughts on game, girl related stuff and anything funny or interesting that might pop up.

Started to read your reports. Theyre good. I think you answered your own question of whether to take a break as you're getting bored. You're closing well but not having much adventure!! Its a point my friend made (he thinks its my sticking point actually so im on the opposite side to you) is whether to stick with girls you meet early on in the night or finding new girls.

Carrying on with your night is always more fun but sticking with your warm up sets is a sure fire thing for sex but its boring.

A break from game would probably help you man...goals change.

Originally I just wanted to get with this one particular girl. My motivation for getting into pickup was to get better with women in general and improve myself. So that if I met someone like that again I would have a better chance of success and not chode out like I have done in the past.

I'm enjoying the process of learning and every night out seems like a new adventure. I know my game needs work and that's what's keeping me going.

When going out with you I can see chatting to chicks is getting too repetitive, a change of scene is always best when your bored. I'm glad you've got something to focus on, good luck with it.
