Default Training a Wing. - 08-01-2013, 05:10 AM

Every knows about learning the game, winging with friends and whatever. But has anyone ever wondered what it would be like to train a wing from scratch with a mate AFC?

This field report I'll be updating hopefully daily but if not probably every few days is on a wing that I'm going to teach at my Uni. Yeah, it could fail and end up being a waste of my time but I think it will be an interesting field report nonetheless.

I'll be updating our progress, nights out or whatever but I'll probably change names and whatever. But yeah, let me know if you think this would be a good idea and I'll start writing up when more happens

I tried to get a couple of mates into it all a while back didn't really get anywhere but then one of them come to me for advice and since he is doing a lot lot better..

My opinion is they've got to want it, most people say they do but if you don't want it bad enough cold approach is far too scary. Don't feel like people can be 'sold' on the idea unless they know they have an issue and WANT to fix it.

Exactly the same sort of problems I've encountered. People may express an interest, but once you get them out there in the cold light of day you don't end up seeing them out again, or they make lame excuses.

Train them as so far as they don't fuck up your sets. You need to tell them, as I told /trained one of my best wings "anything I say in set goes". I say to a girl "my aunts the queen who catches werewolves, is that right wing?" wing says "yeh, his aunt is a mint werewolf catcher!"

Yeah this guy is interested and it's been very successful so far tbh.

Update.

Last night we went out, I helped him out, saw this girl's IOIs from a mile away; encouraged him to go for it. A lot of the time that's all it takes and he ended up going home with her which isn't really a pick up, but a great start either way.

This Saturday will be when I really get him to think in 'the game' but all in all I'm impressed so far.
