I don't tend to do field reports as I think I'm reasonably on par with self assessment and realignment. Although I'm partly writing this to get it out of my system, partly to share with others it can happen and partly to open myself up to any advice.

A few weeks ago I was at a black tie ball with some friends. Generally had an awesome night, it was an open bar (need I say more?).

Pretty much all the girls there were their respective bfs. I'd clocked this and written off any potential gaming for the evening. Naturally, I was having a fucking awesome night.

Much dancing was done, and I found myself throwing the hottest single girl there around the floor. She was loving it. We spent a fair bit of time together throughout the evening at points, flirting outrageously. I even made an effort with friends/family members and they seemed to approve. Unfortunately she had to go fairly early as her family/friends were leaving (about 2am).

Before she left (as the bus was waiting) I lead her away to somewhere private and proceeded to get some 'will I ever see you again?' (her) making out done. All terribly Hollywood.

So, she asked me if I wanted her number. I wasn't actually too fussed as I knew she lived a long way away. She'd already covered this by saying she often came to Leeds so that wouldn't be an issue. So I took it and she disappeared into the night...

Recently I've been getting a fairly good calibration for when I think a girl is going to be a flake or not. I'm normally right if I think it'll lead to something and I used to be terrible at this! I generally don't particularly mind if I do get a flake, I'm pretty thick skinned.

Now I text her about 5 days after the ball, and this was like two weeks ago. Heard nothing since. Yes, I know I should move on. Truth is she was also the most interesting girl I've pulled in a while.

Now of course there can be a multitude of reasons why she wouldn't text back. The fact she's not texted back is not my primary concern, it's that I was near certain that she was interested and something may have come of it. It may also have had something to do with the fact she was perhaps the hottest girl I've ever pulled (solid 9.5 - there are only about 6 women in the world I know of I'd give a 10).

So is my calibration out, is this just a fluke? Has something similar happened to others here? I'm not talking your average meet a girl in a bar for a bit and number close, this was different. It's like the whole evening was so easy and regardless of the lack of sex, ultimately more fun than most ONSs.

Reckon its most likely a fluke or randomness.

So, you're fairly good at being able to tell when a bird is likely to flake. This is your 'normal' level and when something random (and crucially outside your control) happens and you see an unexpected result, its natural to think that it may be something we did which caused it.

Also, when you see an unexpectedly good result, e.g. you ask the 9.5 for her number and she immediately unzips you and starts noshing you off, do you put it down to luck (randomness again) or think "wow my game is fucking awesome tonight"?

Its coincidence that this randomness happened at the same time as the hottest girl you've ever pulled, so don't worry about it HammerTime. I'm sure you will have noticed in your subsequent interactions that you have progessed back to your mean.

This is a good point, there are nights where at the end, you're just thinking in awe of yourself "how the fuck and what the fuck just happened?"

Personally i think you made the mistake leaving it 5 days before you txt her.
with her living far away, you were already in flaky one off land, and by leving it 5 days to txt her youve lost allcalibaration,temperature (fuck knows what to call it)

You should have txt her next day, used it to get her on your facebook.
that way you can still be connected to her (loosely) without holding a txting relationship that will rapidly run its mileage

then leave her to simmer-- could ask when shes back in leeds-- arrange somthing if its soon, otherwise leave her hanging and at some point you might just see on your news field-- blah blah cant wait to hit leeds tonight
then you can dive in and say rarrrr

regards to flakes- ive found once you stop being outcome dependant - which in laymans terms is 'giving a shit what happens' you will actually win everytime
