Though I agree with this statement for an average guy but I would argue that if youre average on looks but have a poor photo/s, you can still do well simply from the content you write in your message.

Girls get a fuck load of messages per day. They are not going to always look at your profile before they reply and if you have a solid message then your below average photos wont be the be all and end all of it.
