Here is the story in brief. I work as a session musician in london and a couple of weeks ago I did a musical, there was a girl in the company unbelievably fit but I didn't have the courage to speak to her, and she never really socialised with the band. I added her to facebook and I asked her if she would be willing to sing in my band which she is well up for, but the big international gigs aren't for a few months. I had a chat on facebook about the upcoming gigs last week with her but I don't really know how to move this forward with her over chat any ideas?

Cheers Jonny

I apologize for being so late, but I'm new! I'm sure you've already moved onto bigger and better things. However, here's a couple of pointers you might consider should something similar happen again.

1) No matter how shy or timid you feel, approach her--especially if she's showing interest. A great way to build confidence is to gaze at her. If she catches your eye and smiles, GAME ON!

2) IF you have no choice but to take the game to Facebook, it's okay! (Trust me, I know Sounds to me like you did a good job at introducing yourself once you made it to FB. Good. However, women are smarter than we give them credit for. She has likely already assumed that you didn't write her on FB JUST b/c you wanted her to sing in the band. While an exchange or two about the band is okay, it is your DUTY to take her OFFline. After some "band chat" shift the conversation to talking about her: about her life, what she does (school/work), and THEN about what she does for fun. Then offer to exchange numbers and carry the conversation to the phone.

3) Carry the phone call to the date. Return to familiar subjects, make her laugh and maintain an aura of mystery. Be laid back. Keep the phone call short and propose a time for you and her to hang out.

More info on my book at the website below. Hope its going well for ya!
