Carbs = calories = potential for growth. You only get fat if you eat too much carbohydrates or you eat high carb and fat food together which fucks your insulin up (to paraphrase).
Thats my understanding at least, feel free to prove me wrong as keeping lean is my main problem.
What other energy sources are there? Fat and Protein are, to my knowledge, pretty ineffective as energy
