The other factor that is common in the successful is when it all goes tits up. Look at business people that have been made bankrupt and still come back. Alan sugar pulled honself back from financial ruin.

Take the risk but know what steps to take if it doesn't work out.
There is also something called survivorship bias to that in that you only hear about the best and the worst of the people. Those that fail are soon forgotten about and those that succeed...well you see/hear about them all the time. For every successful business you've heard of, there are another 9 that failed that you have never heard of.
That said, nothing should stop you following a dream/idea whatever that is..be it moving country, city, job, new hobbies. At least you can say you tried whatever the outcome.
