Arrow Hi, my name is Earl. - 26-07-2011, 11:13 PM

Forgive the pun but I thought it apt: "I'm just trying to be a better person."

4 weeks ago I split with my LTR of 7 years. I'm in my late twenties. We'd grown in to adulthood together but we'd grown differently. Big decision for me. We're still (best) friends.

I had a 3 year LTR before that (also split amicably). This means I've had no to little opportunity to actually meet and attract girls in my life. (Both I met through social circles & friends of friends - and I wasn't the Casanova by any means!).

Since University I've built my own successful business and lead/manage people daily now. I know the 'state' I think I need to be in - a lot of the body language / behaviours I'm reading about I've naturally done in my LTRs and my business (sales/marketing and man-management portions in particular).

I'll talk to anyone (chat on trains to London, in shops, etc.) but when I was in an LTR this was easy. No pressure, I needed nothing from them, and they could undoubtedly detect this.

Keeping this state now I am single, and especially with girls I've always considered 'out of my league' will be difficult. "Abundance mentality" and "Honesty + not giving a fuck = poon" are my current mantras to help with that.

But... well... hey... this is day one. Got to start somewhere.

For me there's no better way to learn than by doing. Learning with others, and having mentors / role models, makes such a difference too.

To that end, I live in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and travel to London on business frequently. Occasionally Manchester. In time, it would be great to meet some of you!

All the best,
- Earl
