if that is true order of conversation then the flaw is:
- Woman: talks about reunions / school / getting back in touch with old friends
- Man: goes completly off tangent, with a closed question about something totally unrelated (i.e. “Do you speak Francais?”)
Just build on her conversation - which is about
reunions / school / getting back in touch with old friends
There is depth/warmth/humanity in such a convo topic so it is a good one to run with, add to, joke with. Woman love talking about friendships (theirs and others).
(Not "do you speak French" as she's from Brussels area -- that's relatively boring and shallow
in comparison to adding depth through topic of "reunions / school / getting back in touch with old friends"))
