Can I kill this argument?

Lie detectors work by measuring the fluctuations in your body that occur due to the betrayal of our emotions. Things like sweat glands, electrical impulses and tiny fluctuations in pulse.

There are two ways to fool lie detectors, one is to not allow those triggers to occur and the other is to falsify the benchmark done at the beginning of the test (to find your averages) by forcing those things to happen when they shouldn't.

In both cases you're controlling your emotions either by increasing them or decreasing them to zero.
