i agree with Jynx. calling is the better option since you show a little bit of courage and with texts... she might not reply! once for example, i texted a girl and she didnt answer, so I went to pay her a visit where she works (waitress) and asked her why the hell she didnt answer my text. she kept insisting that she would have but that she hasnt received any texts. it turned out that one digit was wrong. thats when she started to text back

what always helps me is to make myself distinct enough before she gives me her number so that when I call her I can introduce myself as 'supermario', 'the hitchhike-guy' or some other random shit. this makes sure that she relives the night up to the point where you made her laugh so much because of your story/trick/idea.
