'Treat others as you would wish them to treat you' whether gay, straight or whatever. That's my motto.

Although without wishing to generalise too much when I worked for essentially a 'gay' architecture practice in Manchester we were doing quite a few bars and night clubs (as well as converting warehouses into gay porn studios and designing a cock shaped swimming pool for the gay sauna on Hilton Street). Anyway a lot of the guys who run bars and night clubs in Manchester are gay, having met them on many occasions they are extremely arrogant to the point they are absolutely vile people.

If you were gay and or happened to be part of their clique you were accepted, if they knew you were straight like me they would give you a bit of a hard time (no pun intended).

I felt sorry for these people, it was almost as if they enjoyed intimidating people perhaps as payback for once being ridiculed by straight people for being gay.

So in my experience many gay men I have come across in Manchester have been quite arrogant and defensive to the point i'd rather open a set with straight men in it than gay men. But I do have some gay friends who are genuinely nice people.

It was fear of myself that made me odd
