Couldn't agree more. Overexuberance with the rapport breaking. Cockiness and assumption has to be integrated and subtle. If it's try hard, it's fatal.
Women pick up on what's implied, never on the out and out, in your face communication.
Being direct is a good way to show this, but you can also counterbalance it with a not caring vibe. For example, "what night are you free this week? it shows intent, but not too much control. It's normal, but unnervingly direct, and there's some anticipation also. But if she says Wednesday or Thursday, then you can show dominance and say "ill see you Thursday then, pick you up at 7" or whatever. You don't need all the needy try hard dominance. Keep the lines clean and precise. In my experience, you'll get the best results.
