1. Opinion openers.
Opinion openers are great for beginners as they have built in conversation in the opener and don't take a huge amount of social courage. Classic opinion openers are "drunk I love yous", " Jealous Girlfriend", and " The 80s music " opener.

2. Direct Openers.
Direct openers are openers that express that you wanted to meet a specific girl or group of people. Direct openers can be funny, suave, serious or lame depending on the delivery. Direct openers work best when you have social proof already.

3. Bet openers.
Bet openers consist of asking a woman or group of women to settle a bet for you and a friend. These bets can be about popular culture or about the girls themselves.

4. Situational openers.
Situational openers are openers you come up with spontaneously while out in the field. Situational openers can work but are generally not a good idea for the inexperienced approcher.

5. Functional openers.
Asking a girl where the nearest Starbucks is, what time it is, or if she knowsof anywhere to get something to eat are what's known as functional openers. It takes a lot of work to transition off of a functional opener into a real conbversation.

6. Observation openers.
Observation openers can be about a girl or a story that just happened to you, or about something the girl is doing. You can practice observational openers by commenting on things as they happen around you throughout the day.

7. High value openers.
These are openers that build social value into the opener but are also more high risk. Brad P's "The Shocker" is the most famous of these types of openers.

8. Role-Play Openers.
These are openers where you suck the girl into a fun fantasy world right away. These are great for high energy groups.
