Carl Sagan was a wonderful documentarian (not to mention esteemed physicist). He has a way of seeing and explaining things that put the human condition into context perfectly. I recommend his book "Cosmos". He was also a fan of ganja, and openly admitted to smoking it.

Something I consider to be good in my life is the music of Frederic Chopin. This piece is simultaneously my favourite and least favourite thing in the world at the moment:

It's just advice, fellas. Do whatever the FUCK you wanna do

watch all of Sagan's Cosmos. It's a life-changing event. It should be required viewing in schools at around age 12 or 13. So many problems could be diverted...

alright, since I'm doing everything in my power to put off this assignment, I might as well fill a bit of this one out.

I'm thankful for... my health, my wealth, my schooling, my natural talents, my learned talents, my attitude, my ambitions, my drive, my adaptability, my beliefs (or lack there of), my honesty with myself, and my need to constantly push myself.

I'm thankful for my parents, my pets, my two or three high school friends that kept me from killing myself in those horrid years, my engineering friends who we threw several dozen keggers with over the years, my community college friends who pushed me to do my best, my state school friends who taught me how to do what I wanted, and my current art school friends who give me competition that I greatly need.

I'm thankful for my old animation teacher who kicked me in my ass and never allowed me to slack off. My old physics teacher who taught me to wonder about the world, my history teacher that taught me to question authenticity, my sociology teacher who told me to stand up to authority, and my printmaking teacher who taught me to not give a shit about anyone else. My economics teacher who taught me to fight for everything that I want or have, my drawing teacher who taught me to look at everything differently, and ALL my engineering teachers who taught me to STAY FAR AWAY from left-brain careers.

And I'm especially thankful for all of my exploring friends; we're thicker than thieves, committed more felonies than most gangstas ever will, and had more adventures and life threatening encounters on three years than most people have in a lifetime. You completely overhauled my life, and turned down the 'importance' of every other aspect of my life. Nothing seems too difficult or hazardous anymore.

There's a whole lot more, but I'd rather not get into physical objects, non-tangible personalities, or experiences...

K, I LOVE this series of documentaries I watched the first 2 last night.

I like his style of teaching, it feels objective and subjective from the way that he describes things unattached from human perspective but totally wrapped up in the beauty of nature/physics.

His voice is strange too, slow, hypnotic, metallic but not irritating.
