Who lies more men or women? -
26-05-2011, 06:32 AM
No seriously, when single, or in a relationship, or in any situation, in general, who do you think lies more? Men or women?
Also, from something I saw Phil post, who is more loyal, men or women?
I think, in a generalisation, men will sleep around more but when truly truly in love, will be totally faithful. On the other hand I think women are more likely to cheat even if very very loved up.
I think men find it easier to lie, and probably lie more to get us ahead in life in whatever situation.
This post is a bit of a mess but oh well its early in the morning

As Chris Rock puts it:
Men tell the small lies, like: "nah, oh course your ass doesn't look fat". But women? They tell the big lies, like: "Its your baby!"
But seriously, your gender doesn't dictate whether you are more likely to lie or not - both are as bad (or as good, depending how you look at it) as one another.
Much love,

Men Are Rational, Women are reaction,
women are more likely to react to a prospect of sweeping romance
and if they cheat its on an emotional level... & pre meditated. which is way worse

Do you think a man can be in love and also cheat on a sexual level un-pre-meditated?
Just cos what you say about the emotional level thing

From my experience...
women base the decision to lie mostly on an emotional level
"god I cheated on my boyfriend, i feeeeeel really baaaaaaad about it, but if i tell him am goner feeeeeeeeeel even worse and he's goner feeeeeeeel really baaaaaad aswell."
To many BAAAAAAAAD emotions
Men base the decision to lie mostly on a logical level.
"god I cheated on my girlfriend, if I tell her she will most likely leave me or never trust me again."
That is the most likely & logical scenario
P.S. That's why women can rarely give a straight answer when you ask them why they have lied because the decision was most likely based on an emotion/feeling that they had at the time.

I love that last line. Never thought of things in that way before, about the reason they can't explain things because it was emotions not logic.
But answer this.. if a man lied based on logic, and then thinks logically about the consequences, then why do men ALSO feeeeeeeeeel guilt???
surely we can just logically think, oh, i know, if I decide in my head that if she doesn't find out then nobody gets hurt, then its win win and my guilt would vanish? but it doesn't.
The above paragraph isn't personally about me just men women in general

Yes a man would feeeeel guilt lol because he knows he's done something wrong but it would not be the guilt that would make him liiiiiiiiiiiiiie but the consequences of telling the truth.
for example when you where a child and you did something wrong more then likely your first thought would of been "if mum or dad find out, X will happen"
women and men both have "emotions" but women let there "emotions" dictate there actions, while men let there "logic" dictate there actions (most of the time).
So to answer you question directly, yes you would still feel guilt, BUT would you act on it if the outcome of acting on it did not make sense to your genes survival.

Exactly as I thought.
Thats probably why most men never end up owning up to cheating, yet most women eventually cave in, or start acting different and we find out anyways

I'm just interested in psychological differences between men and women with regards their actions in and out of relationships and I'm curious what people have noticed in their life about this
