Default My NLP experiences - 25-07-2010, 06:41 PM

Hi guys,

I was reading some of the Mind an body posts earlier and noticed somebody wasn't aware of NLP. I just wanted to share some of my experience with NLP in general as well as a tiny amount of my use of it when Gaming.

If you don't want to read all of this post I've summarised my major learnings around NLP and seduction below.

I imagine most other aspiring PUA's heard of NLP the way I did, through The Game and reading some of Neil Strauss' exploits with Grimble and Ross.

I was seduced by the apparent power of SS to seemingly grant you the ability to attract any woman at will using just a few well placed words and anchors (Knowing what I know now about the game in general as well as NLP this was never going to be possible without serious work, Naive eh?).

Not having the resources available to acquire any of the SS materials I went for what I considered the next best thing - buying a book on NLP and trying to learn it myself. I was disgusted with the price of these books and being a Yorkshireman, I chose the cheapest available option, a book called "NLP in 30 days" at an amazing £7.99. This book served as a good introduction to how NLP works, but had next to nothing of the information I would require to do patterning.

The things I was interested in were Patterns and Anchors, but these were only bit parts of the book, which seemed to focus on concentrating on what people say, mirroring and reframing everything that moved!

Although re-framing can be useful, I began over analysing absolutely everything and anything that anybody said, I looked like an idiot because I was copying everybody's gestures and movements all the time. And I was confused because all I was doing was following the exercises listed in the book. People were getting fed up of me talking about NLP all the time....

So eventually I managed to get hold of the Speed Seduction materials, and went through them. I did the meditation and visualisation exercises which I found were a great help if only for a very short period of time. I found I could rid myself of negative beliefs and emotions, although the beliefs didn't tend to come back, it seemed to me that when I used the visualisation exercises that it was just moving the negative emotions aside somewhere and later they would spring up if I thought about the incident that had caused the emotion in the first place, almost like plugging a leak in a hose pipe with your finger.

My experience with SS wasn't all bad though, I found myself beginning to speak to random girls even if it was only to say hi or make mindless small talk. And the one time I used a pattern on a woman was at a works night out, I took advantage of having a deep conversation with a married colleague to use the incredible connections pattern, she immediately DDB'd me and stared into space nodding. Around a month later whilst just having a general flirt with this woman at work she suddenly escalated me, demanded my phone number and began sending me dirty texts - I was balls deep within a week and had alot of fun with the woman, during a debrief one time she told me she first realised she really liked me whilst we were chatting on the works night out.... Coincidence?

Anyway around the time this happened I was messing with cocky funny and was getting much better responses from everyone as well as not creeping some people out with the side of NLP that alot of people seem to find unnatural and picky and I moved away from SS - although I have no doubt that for the right person it would work, I'm just not that person.

Lessons Learned

If you're interested in learning NLP purely for PU then go to the right sources straight away, use forums or buy SS materials - dont waste your time buying books full of jargon, I almost went crazy and caused myself alot of confusion.

SS was no good for night game - you just bore people who want to have fun and NLP does not seem to affect drunk people!

I found it better to just allow myself to feel a negative emotion for a while and don't try to stop yourself feeling it, just sit back and feel the emotion, once it has passed it will not come back when you think about the event that caused the emotion. The SS visualisations are a temporary fix at best.
David D's visualisation exercises are the money stuff.

Although I'm sure it is powerful stuff if you take the time to learn it properly, my success was far better from putting a bit of effort into CF and just having fun vibing with women.

You will not be "caught" reciting a pattern, the worst you will get is a funny look.

So there you have it guys, my experiences with NLP. Please bear in mind that this is my Subjective experience and I am in no way saying that anybody else would have the same issues I did with this stuff, I'm just saying that if you prefer having fun vibing, teasing and being able to be more of your true self then maybe you should steer clear of NLP for PU as I found it a bit of a minefield.

Cheers Guys

I havent tried NLP but i would love to try, although i do most of my gaming at night, not all the girls are drunk
It would be good to atleast test it, so any recommendations would be good.

You can never fail, you can only learn.

Sure mate, you may be able to buy some of Ross Jeffries home study course products on ebay for chepaer than he sells them (Theres probably cheaper/free ways of getting his materials by downloading from infamous torrent websites, but we wouldn't want to encourage this sort of behaviour would we?! ), theres also a mountain of information / articles available on SS and NLP seduction patterns on the internet, just Google things like "Speed seduction guide" "Speed seduction pattern examples" and you'll find what you're after.

Yeah thats a good point mate, although in my experience the ones that aren't drunk are just looking to have fun on nights out, and its easier to hook somebody by being fun and interesting than spitting patterns at them (Though that said they would prob be great to use once you have your target isolated...)
