forum ranking system -

Just out of curiosity, how does the ranking system work on this forum? I noticed that Refl3x recently took my rank number 5, which he certainly deserves for some of the fantastic advice he's given me in the last couple of weeks.

Me, personally, thinks it should be by number of Thanks. Saying something is one thing, saying something useful is another.
But... as I keep telling myself as I see my rank drop.... it's only a fucking number!! Haha!

Can't be number of posts, because there are some people who have posted less than me but rank higher, probably because they've written more in a shorter period of time. I think it's some relation to posts vs time.

If only there was better way to calculate quality.
Can you implement something above a senior member? For example, Junior Member Senior Member Old Dog Member ?

It's my own custom system. It uses an algorithm which takes into account a number of factors to determine how much people have contributed to the forum. It does take into account thanks, post count amongst other things.
