Progression Rant -
02-03-2011, 10:35 AM
I'm guna try something. I feel like I need to get a lot of things out of my head, before i can proceed to being completely awesome 24/8 and be happy. Hence this rant.
I hate how fake society has gotten. I hate that we are supposed to be living in a democracy, yet I feel we don't have any choices or freedom at all. Perhaps I am taking this for granted, but I hate how we have to frickin choose between a Labour or Tory government. I hate how the banks have total control over the country, due to the fact that the PAYE system makes it COMPULSARY that when you work, you pay tax before you see your wages. This is so annoying. It also means that you are FORCED to use a bank account if you wish to earn a proper living.
I hate how the bank of england gets the final say on the level of interest rates, and how they, and the banks, and the government (who think they're all suddently accountancy graduates) get to mess with our economy.
I hate how I pay so much money in road tax, and then I still end up driving over stupid pot holes everywhere! I hate how they just rob people blind on car tax, MOTs, the cost of learning to drive, as well as insurance premiums, in which we even pay tax on that as well (some people don't even know this).
I hate the way society is getting. The way everything is advertised to us, to make us want to eat more double cheese burgers and drink large cokes and eat fries all the time. I honestly think I am ADDICTED to fizzy pop like coca cola.
I hate the way the government assumes that everyone has to goto work and do hard labour, just so we can put money in their pockets so they can go through expenses scandals. Whatever happened to the human race helping each other out? Now its just survival of the fittest (fittest meaning socially adept and smart business choices).
I hate the way everyone is always getting ripped off. Paying for 20Mb broadband and only getting 6Mb, and still having to pay for 20? If you went to maccies, ordered a big mac, but it only had one half, would you pay for it in full still?
I hate the fact that women are assumed to be on some kind of pedestal all the time. Ever since the laws changed and women got more rights, all of a sudden it is hard for men to talk to them? Why the fuck don't they come chat me up when I'm having a shitty day? Nope. Instead, I probably just get aggitated by everyone at work.
I hate the fact that the cost of everything is always going up, and that I can't afford to rent a house, or to buy one, so I am FORCED to live with parents for now. I want my own place. I want a hot tub.
I hate the fact that just to leave the country, you need to BUY A PASSPORT, and even then, pay for flights and get taxed on that. You get taxed on EVERYTHING in the UK. Some countries are better, some are worse, and I get that.
Something that really made me think, is that, 1000 years ago, we didn't have MIRRORS. Nobody cared back then.
So now after spilling out probably not even half of my aggitations, I am going to try and progress to a state where I ALWAYS FEEL SOCIALLY AWESOME AT EVERYTHING IN LIFE FOREVER.
Sorry to be such a downer today. Sucks!

This is so easy for someone to say, but in my opionion you need to make peace with the world. Carrying all this hate around is going to affect every single aspect of your life including, NO especially game.
Okay so I don't live with my parents but I still hate the cost of living and a lot of what you mentioned, some you can fix, some you can't. I don't dwell on the negative, I did and I was a person that nobody wanted to be around.
Hope this helps

BCB Fun Fact #1
Taxes were first started to fund a war with France, therefore we should close all of the universities and begin the long-range shelling of Nice.
Other than that, here's some thoughts.
I voted Lib Dem.
Yes, the prices of things keep going, up - but so do wages.
You don't pay for 20Mb broadband, you pay for "up to" 20Mb. It's all in the fine-print.
If you can't afford to rent a house, get a better job.
If you didn't pay for flights, or the production cost of a passport, or your car, or petrol, who would? I'm sure as hell not paying for your car. You know how I avoid that cost. I cycle.
Yes, banks make shed loads of dosh on your money, but you earn interest too, if only a little bit.
If you still think women are on pedestals, you're AFC. They probably don't come and cheer you up because you're carrying around all this and it makes you look unapproachable... maybe?
Oh, and finally, the first mirrors were made in 6000BC. Sorry.
If you hate this beloved country, there's plenty of others to live in; but don't come crying when you break your leg and their no free ambulance or healthcare; or if you find that your civil liberties are being violated and no-one gives a shit.

Lol - I also voted Lib Dem, and they almost won our area (behind by 200 votes), it just sucks they didn't get more power.
I could sit here all day trying to make excuses for your responses, but that isn't helping anyone. I just needed to remove this hate from my brain, so I can get over it and move on, and be awesome.
You're right, I can't go carrying around all this hate.
I don't think they're on pedestals, it's just the general society acts like they are, which I don't agree with. And I wasn't talking primarily about myself, but in general, not many girls pickup men (from when I've been in public anyways)..
I'm looking for higher paying jobs and applying, but my employer is about to pay for my final year of a degree in Business and management, so I want to hold out for now, just sucks waiting lol.
And LOL at the mirror thing, my error. Just something I watched on blueprint..
Thanks for putting it in perspective... appreciate it

Anytime
But yeah, there's no point carrying around all that hate.
I was once taught about the "circle of stress".
Inside the circle are all of the things you can directly control. These things are worth spending time thinking / worrying about.
Outside of it is everything else. If there's sweet FA you can do about it, don't let it stress you.
Let's say you're going to a job interview and your train breaks down. Some people will stress out about the fact that they might be late and wind themselves up. Is you getting stressed out or angry about it fix the train any faster? No. So why bother.
What you can do though, is control who knows about it, so you ring the interviewer and explain. Crisis averted stress free.
You can't control taxes, the weather, who the Prime Minister is, the amount of adverts during your favourite film and countless other things; so don't stress about them

Mirrors made of obsidian (polished volcanic glass) were found in Anatolia (modern-day Turkey)
Pub quiz FTW
