I've heard this all before. Metal's dead, Drum & Bass is dead, etc. Then you get one tune that makes it big and it's 'back' again.
F*ck the top 40. It's force-fed mediocrity. The only radio I can bare to listen to is Zane Lowe in the evenings, or metal and drum and bass stations online.

This has become a Tescos now. Something tells me there was financial pressure which an entity like Jilly's could not compete with (as well as the recession). In short - Tesco got the spot they wanted... another street corner in Manchester.
As for the masses who went to Jillys, they're still there, just not in the same building. They've been at the rather scally Coliseum ever since, but are about to relocate to Retro bar behind the BBC. Proabably a better venue, dingy and cheap!
Finally, look at the line-up for Sonisphere. I've got my ticket already, it's too damn hot to miss!
