very random topic
have this friend i have known since i was 16
always got on really well... best friends for years
fell out a bit recently but started to talk again
anyway i speak to him about my mums work mate (via txt) while i am waiting to be seen by the dentist where she works and he says:
there is no point
she has shown you no interest

anyway i told him i asked her out and she said yes
he says how he thinks its strange how i have just come out of a relationship and am looking for a new girl friend and that i should have other priorities, such as moving out and getting a car etc...

i dont know how to take this,
i mean its not like all i do is chat up women but i dont understand why he would not be supportive of me going on a date
its not like i am going to marry a girl its just a date...

i am looking for a job, dont need a car and dont want to move out...
i would like some more cash though but that will come with the job...
its not the first time he has blittled what i have done and i dont know whether to feel angry or is he right?
other friends we excited for me and just asked about her

You in danger of contracting oneitis (sp?), spending too much time and effort /writing about this girl. And you seem to have a very expectation of her as well. As Camarda says she might flake and you left nursing your ego.

My advice is to keep meeting new girls and keep your options wide open. Do what is right for you and not what your friend is telling you to do. Also, any of my friends who belittle me is walking on a tight rope, carry on and they are no longer my friend.

p.s. Off-topic: I dont know your situation but moving out is one of the best things I have ever done and I was 17 then.

It's just my first date for years so not used to it... I don't know anything about her so I don't really know if I like her yet... She is just fit lol... It's just seems strange that I say something and he just says I should have different ideals... Or should do things differently etc ... Or saying things I am doing are a waist of time etc... Having too much fun sarging for a girl friend anyway lol

He is just jealous.
