Default Spamming?! - 13-04-2010, 09:15 AM

This isn't a complaint more a quest for knowledge about why they do it.

From what I understand on this forum you need to go through the process of registering an account but do they have programs to run this for them then manually type the image word thingie?

Also how does the person make any money? Are they just after google hits or do they expect people to actually buy this shit?

PRESS RELEASE
For immediate distribution

[Manchester, UK - April 13, 2010] Technology company PuaForum has ceased business operations in China.

PuaForum's chief exec said the pick-up giant is paranoid about further security attacks in the wake of a high-profile assault it blames on hackers in China.

Last month, PuaForum gave two reasons for reassessing its China operations. One was the company's dismay with the Chinese government's ceaseless efforts to limit free speech on the web. The other was a sophisticated hack attack launched from China in December that targeted PuaForum's secure servers in the UK.

The lessons to be learned from PUAForum's exit are not necessarily transferable to other foreign companies operating in China. Many of these companies have also compromised long-stated principles. They may choose to follow PUAForum and leave. But they should do so knowing that PUAForum's principled stand did not imperil its future bottom line or its awesome pick-up principles.

Later, foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said the exit would not affect Sino-UK relations unless someone politicised the issue.

Default Ban - 13-04-2010, 10:29 PM

Can't you ban the China IP range (suppose they'll probably spoof it)... Ban Russia while you're there! ("Oooh... those Russians!")

I've found that the best solution has been just to block all China IP ranges. This reduced our spam by about 99%.

The only shit that gets throught now os the odd spammer himself who automates everything except the captcha

Great work, thanks. Anyone else also think its ironic that u now prevent the Chinese ppl from accessing information on the Internet, when normally it is the Chinese state itself that does that! This will get u a place in the Chinese government, Twisted!

The Chinese authorities are to blame for forums like this banning their country. They make no attempt to tackle computer crime, not to mention the huge counterfeit trade (Clothing, electronics)
