Default New Year's Eve and Comedowns - 30-12-2014, 01:10 AM

NYE is coming up and feel free to post what you're doing for it here but my main question is what is everybody's solution to the inevitable comedown/hangover? I always get properly ruined and have the most fucked up Comedowns due to the amount of mdma I consume. I find often a few days later I even end up with a flu type of thing.

What is everybody's remedy short term (next day) and long term (upto a week before it hits)?

I'll straight up say my personal ones. The absolute basic:

Tonnes of water and sleep. This means at least 5 litres and if you're like me then actually getting out of bed, showering and maybe a walk THEN I can properly sleep otherwise I'm in a weird state of limbo between sleep and awake.

Next I recommend as many different types of painkillers you can find, a can of red bull, an isotonic drink and some kind of healthy food. This plus the basic mentioned above. Painkillers can just be aspirin, paracetamol and ibroprofen but if the comedown or hangover is that bad take whatever.

Next is shit like a multivitamins, cod liver oil pills and alkaseltzer.

Drug wise I hear weed is really good but I dint smoke weed and decent sleeping tablets would be a great idea once you've tanked up on water and food.

Now more comedown specific I think these things are really good, and for a hangover too tbh, for the depression and hollow, meaningless feeling:

Watch a good easy film, comedy, real tear jerker or possibly one with some profound shit about life if you have the attention span. A TV series is also fine. The point is to get your emotions going in some cathartic way but not be too hard on your brain.

Ring up friends and chat even meet them if you can and wallow in self pity together. Get some takeout or whatever.

Also possibly write in some journal or diary about your feelings and thoughts, it sounds gay but if you've ever had a true comedown you know it's acceptable.

The last one is the hardest but possibly the best but not much experience with it haha:

Do something productive like complete a load of shit you've left off for ages, go to the gym, do errands and difficult phone calls, take a girl on a date (although I've had terrible experiences with this one haha), tidy your room properly is actually a big one! In fact doing a load of tidying and organising and de - cluttering (even if it's your to do list) maybe be the best of all these things. It sorts your brain out a bit.

Anyway if I'm honest I usually neck painkillers and try and drink water whilst in bed all day with tv shows and films on whilst I have my eyes closed. Maybe go gym or tidy my room but recently I've been preparing for hangovers and shit a lot more.

But yeah my opinion is water and sleep are the main ones for me. Like it doesn't matter what the hell I do I need sleep and water to get rid of my hangover. The rest help or are more for long term.

I'll be drinking a few gallons of alcohol because after the new years binge ends that's it for me I'm going off alcohol almost totally. I'll only be drinking on special occasions the first of which is at the end of February.

For the hangover I'm usually fine with a massive takeaway of Chinese or buy one get one free out of one of the many pizza joints surrounding me. And a few big bottles of Pepsi.

There isn't much more to my hangovers other than lying on my bed pigging out, while watching stuff on Netflix, & getting really anxious about all the shit I'm supposed to be doing that I'm not doing.

Except this time it will be the last time that happens for around 50 days or more. Then about 30 days after that.

I haven't foreseen any further than the Froch Chavez junior fight at the end of March but I estimate that there will be gaps of at least a month between nights of drinking.

Abs are made in the kitchen. Get your macros sorted. You should know your Basal Metabolic Rate. And work around that either to put on weight, to get lean etc. When I'm leaning for a competition I'm eating 1700 kcal about 500kcal less than my BMR. Training is the easy bit. Dieting is hard. And stay away from the alcohol.

Used to get shredded like this every NYE, was practically religion. Although I don't do drugs any more (95% true)there was a point where I indulged in such activity's. To which I can only recommend from personal experience.

MDMA/Pills
Shit come down, I'd say fuck off the alcohol about 2-3 hours into taking it. Start drinking water. If everyone else is mangled no one will care, n some will probably join you. Next day chill out with friends rocking the comedown and get through it together. Watch some film like 'real steel' - Shit but will help. And weed will help. If you don't smoke or smoke it, just have a few drags of a joint. Will chill you out n make you feel less shit. I also used to doodle randomness.

Coke
Fuck it, you will probably be ok n have a nose bleed next day/that night. Semi flu symptoms but no where near the come down of mdma/pills. Chinese food n company will be fine. Getting back on the beer/weed will help to... well, at least to get through the day. If you're not into that just serf the web.

both require lots of sleep/chilling out, and if you live with parents preferably minimalistic contact. but if you can get food, probably best to try n eat it, even if you think you're not hungry.

When I was an amphetamine fuelled madman I often took more drugs to ease a comedown.

You can use the amount you took the night before as a scale. So for example if you took about 10 E's then take 1 or 2 next day. If you took about 20 then pop 3 or 4.

Maybe a few lines too. And a bottle of vodka.

Haha I agree with you both in the junk food and chilling with friends. I've heard about something called 5htp that helps with the following week's depression and mood swings.

What the fuck are you on about Jaz? Yeah you're right do nothing about your hangovers or Comedowns or muscular dystrophy. And I'm low working class you bumder.

What I did in the end was drink quite a but of water, lie in bed and have about 6 wanks to tonnes of porn then ate some Iceland Chinese party food snacks and some Ben and Jerrys. My research, trials and findings have led me to believe it is equally good as any other way.
