Default Mobile Networks - 02-04-2014, 11:06 AM

I've been with Three for about four years now, and they've been pretty shit to be fair, network signal keeps dropping out, being slow, support network is oversubscribed and frankly crap.

Does anybody have any good experience with decent mobile networks in the city centre and around England in general? I require quite a lot from my mobile data, I use between 6gb - 12gb a month and expect little to no signal cut out.

4G is awesome, but it seems at the moment you either get a shit service, or pay through the nose for any decent amount of data usage.

Data is a big thing for me, been thinking tesco or giffgaff, failing that I'll just have to fork out for EE

Im on t-mobile 3g full monty unlimited data 30 quid a month. Reception is ok. Can also upgrade to EE 4g but would need a 4g phone like galaxy s4. Ive got the s3. I got a 4g payg EE sim and myfi box to get better indoor coverage. I link to that through wifi. I dont have fixed bb. When it's good I can get 8mb/s dload and 6 mb/s upload in the flat. But it can be flakey.

I'm on giffgaff - if you're tech savy and don't care that support is through a forum they are awesome. I'm on the £12 goody bag with unlimited internet. NO TETHERING PERMITTED - but other than that it's unlimited.

I'm with three & they've been pretty amazing.

I upgraded my contract to the one plan in February with 2000 minutes 5000 three to three minutes 5000 texts unlimited data & unlimited tethering, for £36 a month.

I use on average 50 - 80gb a month because I use a lot of tethering which is why I upgraded in the first place.

It's been an amazing experience because for only £36 a month I have literally got broadband in my house except it's all included in my phone bill. I save fucking HUNDREDS of pounds not having to buy pay per view events & just stream the internet from my phone wirelessly to the laptop & link that to my widescreen. If I had no life I could waste my days playing online games, all through my phone, the HTC One. This being in the future carry on is fucking awesome.

The only downside now is that a week after I upgraded three decided to pull the unlimited tethering for all future contracts. Of course, I got in there in time so I'm good for another year & a half.

Then I'll leave to EE who told me they'll do unlimited everything for even cheaper.

I moved over to the Unlimited Internet 200 plan with Three.
Monthly rolling contract £12.90, unlimited data, 5000 texts, 200 minutes.
You don't get tethering included but I can use its all I like since all my pc's run on Linux, and incidentally they can't tell the difference between Chrome running on Linux, and Chrome running on Android (also Linux).

If I tried it with Windows or Mac though, the internet gets blocked and you have to restart your phone to get it back.

What I meant was they reviewed & changed their available contracts to be less value than they were, so those who took out a contract from then on had the new, less valuable contract.

They still have unlimited data on the contracts, but only 1.5gb of tethering, which is fucking shit.

No they haven't stopped the tethering for me or anyone who took out the previous contracts with unlimited tethering. It's not what we signed for, so it would be illegal for them to do so.

I understand a lot of other mobile networks do however, take the proverbial piss when it comes to ripping off customers & hitting them with hidden charges or upping the monthly bill. Snakes.

That's one very good thing about three, great customer service. 10/10.
