Yeh, thats one way of looking at it. You're saying he's strayed off his path, so he's been in conflict with himself thinking "what do I really want? I'm confused!". He's decided he wants monogamy and he really wants to keep this promise to himself.
As you said "As men self-control, our word as bond, resolve and tenacity are central to our being. Tiger has fallen short of these standards in this area of his life so change is required and a sex addiction clinic is his chosen path to change".
However, the flip side of this story is that the media seems to be demonising male sexuality. This suppression seems to run deep in society, which stifles so many people. This is not cool.
