I bought an E Cig this morning and its helping my craving but I I was just wondering if anyone has quit smoking and how they did it?

I was thinking about going on the tablets or patches but I've never really tried giving up before and in struggling

e cig is the easy solution you get the best of both world. you can go out with the smokers or sit inside being all smug with the non smokers.

don't buy the crap they sell in the supermarkets you will just go back to normal cigs.
get a refill kit the initial investment costs a bit but the fluid is dirt cheap and lasts ages.

they have different strenghs i'm currently one step above placebo(started on max).

it might not be proper giving up but it works. I may stop when I reach placebo(no nicotine).
All I know is I will never proper smoke again.

Stick to cigarettes, those electric ones make you look really gay.

3 days done!!

I stopped using patches and was off em for 3years.
Its all in your head it was so damn easy when I did because I just got it right in my head.
Although I started again about a year ago someone passed me a joint at a party and I stupidly started again. Ive been on and off em ever since.
I just got some more patches from my doctors packing it in again tomorrow.

i miss it man! the smell of stale cigs gives me a hard on!

I did at first but after a week or 2 it makes u feel like u wanna chuck.
The girl I was with when I quit last smoked and I just couldn't kiss her after shed had a smoke it was total yuck

Smoking update!

Today is 1 week without a single cigarette and things seem to be getting a lot easier.

I still have major cravings but the electric cigarette seems to be helping me deal with this.

I have recently gone from 24mg doses of nicotine to 16mg and hoping to drop down to 8mg by the end of the week.

I went out on Friday night in Manchester and got pretty wasted, in my head this has scared me in terms on quitting smoking because there is nothing better than a cig and a few beers.

I left the house at around 7 oclock and everything was going well until around 10pm when my e-cig ran out of battery and I felt myself panic and thoughts of smoking started to take over!!

I fought temptation and around 12pm I found myself at the bar ordering a pint, stood next to me was this cool guy also ordering a beer. I noticed him taking a drag of an e-cig and I got into conversation with him about quitting.

He went on to tell me how he was 6 months in without a fag and how he only uses his e-cig on nights out. I went on to tell him how I had quit for 5 days and how my cig had ran out of battery and I was finding it hard.

As soon as he heard this he handed my his (they cost around £20) and said… I think you need this more than me mate!

What an awesome thing for a stranger to do! I then decided in my head not only do I owe it myself to stop smoking I also owe it to him!

It really gave me the kick in the arse to fight temptation and be strong!
