Default Im back?? i Hope!! - 19-12-2012, 04:35 AM

So ive not been on here for the best part of a year, due to lack of internet, constant moving etc.
I hope all the guys on here are still good??
Ive missed having the internet to chat on here for a long time.
So an update is due me thinks!!
Unfortunately not the most possitive one ive got to say :'S

I will try to make this a long story short.

Its been a hell of a year for me.
I got made redundant, through my own choice (could have relocated to Coventry but i hated it there) thinking i could walk straight into another job.I didnt and have been out of work for six months now.
I got with a girl who i knew wasnt right but the sex was good so i put up with the bullshit.

I couldnt afford to live in my flat so moved in with her, then promptly moved out as i hated living with her, becoming homeless.

Ive been couch surfing ever since and moved 8 times in 3 months.Including relocating to Cumbria briefly and came back again as it was a disaster.

The sex with the missus dried up for months and i couldnt figure out why?!
It turned out my now ex missus was stringing me and this other guy along saying to him we were broke up and to me they were just friends.Basically lying to my face some how thinking i wouldnt figure it out!!
I gave her loadsa chances and even considered letting this slip for a second!! obv ive finally told her to sling her hook and both me and the other guy agreed to do it together to teach her a lesson!!
I should hate her, i should have never been with her, I knew she was upto dodgy stuff, but i stuck around like a chump and even now i dont know why?? i knew what i should have done, i knew it was going on and i didnt do anything. I guess thats a serious lesson for me to learn!!

So ive had a rough coupla months and im sure there plenty more bad stuff i could put on here but im not.I had a few days under the bed covers not talking to anyone or eating or going out.
Now im trying to snap myself out of this, learn lessons and remain upbeat as hard as it may feel right now.
Im hatching a plan to crash at my m8s in Nottingham just after newyear. That will hopefully help me get away from my ex as in a town this small its hard not to always bump into her ggrr
Make a fresh start in a cool student city with a great music scene.
Maybe have a stab at going to uni finally.
Fingers crossed i will have an easier time of getting some work.

If i go i may not have the internet again for a while but i hope not to be away from this forum this long again!!

Yo

We learn from our mistakes, particularly with women.

I suggest you start by thinking what it is you want in life.
Seek out some stability...

There are ways and means of doing things.

Look up: Open University... you get funding from government for doing courses...

And social housing or something?

You got this man

Wherever you go, there you are. Still fun to run away though.

Cheers for your comment Spike

Right now i just want a quiet life and a bit of mental piece to get myself and my life back together

Ive been doing that very thing, thinking about what i want in life and not settling for any less.Which is what i was obv doing with that girl!!
Definately need some stability back in my life!

I was gona see if i could find a cheapy room that would take dss, at first.

Rather than open university i was thinking of a full time course at Nottingham Trent once ive got a place, a job, a coupla quid in the bank and got myself settled down a lil bit.

I hope i got this

Some of your story is similar to mine.

6 months ago I was in the same position, mad looking to move away for a new life & to get away from my ex & the shitty memories etc.

Then the people who owned the temporary accommodation I was in gave me 28 days to leave, not through violence or bad behavior or anything, i just had been there longer than the 2 year limit & they had to serve me with the notice, so..

Rather than think wtf am I gunna do I said to myself ok this is the push I need to finally move away (I'd been thinking about it for a year) & I contacted some landlords & got a private place shared with my mate who was also kicked out of the building.

The house was a dirty insect infested shithole, but I didn't care cos I knew it was only gunna be a quick fix to get me down to Belfast, & that it was only temporary. Then after 2 months my mate moved in & just wanted to wreck the place & party, so I left & spent 2 months in a hostel. Then last month I got offered a city center flat, it wasn't exactly easy & I had to be patient but that's not important now.

I just finished pimping out my pad this morning & it's awesome.

I looked into the open university less than 2 weeks ago, applied for psychology & counselling, & 2 nights ago I got an email confirming that I'd been accepted AND that my application for financial support was also successful - I've had the first year & a half paid for me for fucking free!!! It commences in february & I cannot wait to get started.

Choose an open degree, you pick & choose the modules that suit you, so you aren't forced to study crap that you don't want or need to. You can change the direction of your study if you find you don't like your subject anymore. You do the work in your own time, when it suits you. You choose how high a level of qualification you want, if you get to diploma stage, you can quit for 10 years, then come back & continue on your way up to a degree with honours, from where you left off, if you feel like it. Check this stuff out, since you are considering education, you should be very impressed. It is awesome.

I'm also applying to get a computer which will be paid for. You even get a study maintenance grant to pay for broadband etc (you won't have to do without internet again lol) it is almost too god dam good to be true.

Things were shit for me too, but now I feel like I'm on top of the world.

I even had to turn down a good job a few weeks ago.

Gladyour new pads all fully pimped up now, hope you have a lava lamp in there lol
I didnt realize there was that much flexability or that much financial support for open university courses :O
I`ll have to have a serious look into them as well as the financial side and what im eligable too.Im looking at some kind of art and design degree with the idea of becoming an artist in mind.....my plan to be a rock star hasnt worked out unfortunately

Go for it. I didn't care if I had to live in a tent, I was getting outta that town & nothing was gunna stop me. One of the staff from the place I got evicted tried encouraging me to move back to the little town/village I had originally moved to Dungannon from, he said:

"Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in order to take a step forwards"

I told him

"That's a nice attempt at an anology but, I will be taking NO backward steps thank you very much"

It was actually the first year I got paid, not year & a half.

Take a look at their subjects:

Undergraduate Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and Courses | Open University

You might still have time to apply to start in April.
