hi everybody. my name is ben, i am 25 and i am an AFC.

as far as i'm aware, i'm a funny, intelligent, creative and fairly attractive guy. i make all my friends laugh. i flirt playfully with my female friends (within the bounds of acceptability, obviously) i can talk to pretty much anyone (so long as its not about football or politics) put me next to a girl i know ISN'T interested or available and we'll have a great time.

and therein lies the problem. because as soon as i know i might have a chance with a girl, everything changes. i go from fun-loving, easy-going, happy-in-my-own skin, to a complete blank, staring gormlessly with a nervous tremor in my voice as i say something inappropriate, trying-too-hard-to-be-funny or just plain stupid, probably followed swiftly by an apologetic mumble and a run for the nearest door.

so maybe i've just outlined the very best-case scenario versus the very worst, but thats how it plays out in my mind as i sit here typing it out. sometimes it feels like if a girl so much as makes eyes at me across a bar i can totally brick it, but if someone says 'oh this is so-and-so's girlfriend' then its a different story. what is that!?

i've read 'the game', watched some clips of mystery others on youtube, but its all so removed and very american, i just can't imagine the rings routine working on an english girl... i guess thats my negative mind speaking though, right? so anyway, i'm hoping i might find some more british audience-tuned material on here, some good openers for the british sense of humour would be a great help... and maybe some other budding PUAs in the uk and maybe even the brighton area to share info with.

have been away from brighton and my computer for a few weeks. yes spud84=chemical reaction, i signed up as spud84, then saw theres already someone called spud on here, seemed a bit silly to be almost the same as someone else! so changed my log in to chemical... anyway thanks for the welcome, looking forward to getting stuck into a 'rather more english' game!

I visited Brighton not long ago. Got massively sunburnt on the beach. I reckon a place like Brighton should be PUA paradise, so you're in a good place.

I thought the same thing about the famous US PUAs. Thing is, a lot of them come over and teach in the UK, and claim to have just as good results here as they do at home. I would be very interested to find out if there is a real difference between European and American game.

Welcome Spud/Chem Reaction/Ben - may I say a very eloquently put introduction.

I can associate with your problem as I was not too dis-similar a few years ago with regards to the available + non-available girls thing - but it does get easier!! With regards to different styles of Game; I know what you mean, but it depends on how you use different openers. I know there are a lot of guys on here that shy away from 'routines' and don't like them at all....I would consider myself a natural-Game PUA but I do like using routines to DHV - the ring routine especially always works really well and it is a good basis for Kino and intermacy quite quickly. Don't give up on it until you've tried it...but message me if you want any more help bud.

I reckon the openers should still work no problem, but do need to be phrased so as to sound as though an English person invented them!

Imagine how weird it would be to hear someone using an English accent with American mannerisms!

Yeah of course - if you are starting out and are still looking to 'The Game' to get your openers then you will find them very American in both language and content but they can be easily adapted for UK use
