Hello I'm Dave, 45 and an engineer working in London.

Family genetics have been kind so I don't look as old as the mileage indicates.

I became single again recently and as a start in my new life I read a pile of self-help books, PUA reports/ books/ blogs and watched loads of videos on you tube, mostly Tony Robbins and David De Angelo.

My head is stuffed with info now and I'm all fired up to try some of this stuff out to see what happens and maybe hone some kind of game for myself that fits who I am (which is what I think you need to do).

So far I've only done one (sober) daytime approach in a book shop near where I live. It was going really well until her phone rang. She ended the phone call with "I love you". Then apologised to me for her phone ringing and said she had to go. But my heart was pounding out of my chest with adrenalin for a half hour afterwards and I felt good about myself. I want to try it more and am prepared to try to tackle the fear aspect.

I've travelled quite a lot abroad and achieved career highs but not really become comfortable around women I don't know well.

With my general life experience and what I find out in the field, hopefully I can contribute something new to the forum.

I expect that if I can have some good new experiences with women at my age, it will bring everyone else hope!
