Hey there, - just thought I'd introduce myself as a starting point.
Name: Andrew
Age: 33
Location: Southampton
Occupation: Web developer
PUA Experience: N/A
OK, - as you can see above, I'm a bit older than most on here, - reason being that I had a few girlfriends when I was younger then got involved in a serious relationship when I was 22 which became marriage, but has just ended, - so the whole
PUA thing arose gained noteriety & subsequently slid by under the radar whilst I was in that relationship / married(!).
As that has come to an end I am back on the single scene, but have to admit to being a bit socially awkward both around guys & girls (which is wierd as I'm actually a really good communicator & am quite eloquent!), - I just lack confidence (for reasons I'll explain in other posts).
A friend recently (Thursday) suggested Neil Strauss' 'The game:' to me & I've almost finished it (It's Sunday) that is in addition to watching
hours of
PUA footage on youtube & reading forums etc. - it's like a whole realm of possibilities have opened up & although I've not practiced any in-field yet, - I'm already writing & memorising my own material which I intend to start putting into practice very soon.
I'm not looking to be the best, just to overcome my confidence issues & be able to strike up converations with others & hold their attention (small-talk is something I really struggle with, so the idea of rehearsed material to delve into actually strikes me as genius!)
Important: I'm embarking on a round the world trip starting later this month & as I've read that in some countries (specifically the US) just being English can be a DHV, I want to be able to start conversations with various sets, just to see where they go! and as it's not my home turf any blow-outs will be shortlived once I move on.
Happy to accept any advice or pointers right off the bat, & thanks in advance,
- Andy
