hey people! im new to the game, and im after some advice about how to get started. i've read the game by neil strauss, and now im looking to start testing out some new skills. i understand the process, but what im after is some killer openers, and the do'sand donts of the pickup, any advice?

I came across David De Angelo on you tube before I even knew about PUA and thought he was the only person teaching stuff, he doesnt really talk about pick up or approaching his theory is how you act when going about your every day business. I started with his cocky comedy before reading the game and that made a huge difference to interactions with women you come across in normal ways such as work or till clerk etc. You will here this time and time again but get out there in amongts them and arrange a meet up with a local wing. As for advice, I'd say to stick to Mystery Method and look to get build some confidence if you're approaching pick-up as a newbie. It's good for initial success and will give you the outer confidence.

After a while though, you'll want to veer towards natural game (most of the lads on this forum, myself included, are big fans of natural game). It's better for your inner confidence which is good not only for attracting girls, but also being the best you can be in life in general.

Some openers to try:

1) Hi, how are you?
2) You guys look interesting, who are you?
3) Ok, I need a girl's opinion on this - is Mick Jagger sexy?
4) I want to buy a cocktail - can you recommend one?
5) (To target) You caught my eye from over there - I have to tell you I think you're gorgeous or I'd never forgive myself.

You'll soon learn you can open with anything you like - it's not what you say but how you say it. If it's done with complete self-assurance it'll work. You have to KNOW that you're the coolest mofo in there, not just think it.

Dos and don'ts:

DO whatever you like. Go out and have fun. Get pissed, have a laugh, and be social. If you enjoy yourself, people will want to get to know you.
DON'T care what people think. At every moment out in the field, remember that these are just people. If they don't like who you are, fuck 'em. They're probably not sure of themselves as-is - they are likely to follow along with someone who has high confidence.

cheers guys, some good advice, im based out of west wales. ive got a girl, a HB7 who's been after me for a while, well i think she does, she is always emailing to go for a brew, even when i dont reply, so i take that as an IOI. i think im going to go, and use her as practice, what suggestions have you got for the date?

Im new myself and also learning alot i have also read the game which i found useful, my advice is 2 do wat u think, take that hb for a brew and see where it goes also try and build your confidence by opening 2 other people, they will not ignore u if u start a conversation wiv them. Good luck and keep us posted on how u do.

Unfortunately I have never found a 'killer' opener. Havign said that I've found being direct the most effective the handful of times I've done it. Just look online for openers, there'll be loads.

As for the date. Go out with her for a brew and relax as much as you can. Try not to fill you head worrying about body language or what to say. Just ask her stuff that you are interested in and tell her things that are going on in your life. Dates for me are about getting know each other, so being open and honest is where it's at. It doesn't have to be deep or spectacular. Above all trust yourself.

Build a good connection with her - don't just talk about the usual shit like "how's work?", talk about whatever you like and build upon things that you have in common. But most importantly of all, be chilled out and have the brass balls to talk about whatever you like.

Secondly, state your interest in her to let her know you like her. It can be something as simple as "you're really fun to hang out with" or "I've always thought you're really pretty". Say it in a way that doesn't necessitate a response, more in a way of "I'm giving you value, so you must be quite cool".
