If you enjoy what you do then it makes you a happier and more confident person for doing it. Take my last job, I used to run the print room and library for a college.

I loved my job until we had a change of management and structure, and it showed, I got to help less able students, flirt (but not too seriously) with the cute female student. Whenever I would be out in town I would see the students who would always have a laugh and a beer with me.

Not only did they hit on me (to which I would turn them away) it helped my confidence to feel popular and wanted plus on top of that, it gave me great social proof.

Nonsense. I have a bunch of friends that earn over six figures. They usually date strippers and model types (who hit on them at certain clubs/bars) but they are almost without exception totally controlled and subservient to their (always much more socially intelligent) women. Some are married, most of them have no idea how to talk to women and very few of them have any ability to get laid without directly (or indirectly) paying for it.

Sure they have access to a certain 'kind' of woman that has a certain kind of outlook on sex and relationships...but trust me it's not all it's cracked up to be.

These guys work 13/15 hour days doing something they hate and occasionally prop themselves up with a few lines of coke long enough to stick their floppy cocks into some ukrainian hooker's pussy, then shuffle off home, roll into bed for two hours of light drug induced sleep beside the miserible (or indifferent) wife and then simply rinse and repeat. Might sound like happy days but it ain't. Most of them are on antidepressants, have a host of substance abuse and health issues, are always in therapy and forever mourning their shattered hopes and abandoned dreams.

Sure if you can make a ton of money doing something you love it’s a different story.
