Default how to interpret this text message? - 12-01-2009, 07:51 PM

This is the story: Went out clubbing on Wednesday with 3 girls, and a cute girl on the dance floor kept looking at me. Later when I was dancing quite close with one of the girls she almost hugged me raising a question from my girl "do you know her?". So in a bit I approached her, and she asked "why are you so popular here?" .. later she gave me her business card just before I left.

On Thursday texted her inviting out, and she replied that would prefer Friday. On Friday she asked if can bring a friend (girl). I said "yes" and invited my wing too.

She brought a beautiful young and very cute girl. Very smart and funny too. So I pretty much immediately realized that I want to get her long term.

Spent 4 hours in a club, everything was great, got the jealousity working (waitress in the club is my friend and was hugging me all the time), later girls asked - "what's your secret with girls". Mentioned that I host parties at my place and the girl I liked (I haven't even invited them) said "we're in". I laughed "we'll see, I only invite people I know really well". Also chatted about IMAX cinema in London as apparently they have never been there and I said that will invite them next time. Also tried (not sure how successful) to connect in a few ways.

At 1am I left and they stayed. 2 days later I texted the girl I liked
"Hey, hope u had a nice wend. Got good seats in IMAX for friday eve. Ask Nataly if she can join. It will be fun ! Valentine"
and 6 hours later got the response
"Hi valentine thank you for the offer but natasha is away workin and im
very busy at the moment workin on various projects but would b great
2catch up soon x"

which really puzzled me. Looks like a polite rejection ("on various projects" is very lame), and "would be great to catch up soon" doesn't make any sense in this context.

The girl is surely used to attention and guys (at least a solid 9.5), and she's an actress, on imdb, etc. so I'm trying not to show any affection.

What do you guys think of this response? How would you translate it?
I see these options
* Not interested in you, sorry (which is rather strange considering Friday)
* My friend is out this week (this is true) and I don't feel comfortable going with you without her yet, besides she might like you too.
* I want to play hard to get, you're used to female attention, and I don't want to be an easy target
* I already have a date on Friday, but would like to meet you another time.

I take it my only option is to wait a week or so and text her again with something more neutral like "Hey, busy week ! Hope you're ok. Let's try to catch up some time."

Any other ideas/thoughts?

Thanks

From what you've said, I'd go with 2, 3 or 4, most likely 2. SO just play neutral, scope the situation then try again.

(But that might be coz I'm writing this when seriously hammered, I will review this in the morning)

yeah, try MM's hoop theory, steal her frame and she will become less secure in her position of power, allowing you to lead more easily.

sounds like shes got plenty going for her, so start with little hoops, beckoning finger etc. then build up from there

yea man, you need to steal the frame. How about texting her:
"Cool, gimme a call when you're not too busy."

Now you've stopped the chasingand turned it around. She cant sa no to this one cos you're only interested when she stops the shit.

this happened to me a few months ago. It was the girl trying to gain power over me. Because i had been in control of when we met up before and our second time together, she decided she would let me down for the night because she wanted me to chase her and let her arrange our next meeting. What i did was said ok then, some other time, just like twisted said, and she rang me a day later to arrange a meeting.

its been a while

Valentine I would go back with "yeah maybe if I have the time, I am curious is working on various projects the new way of saying you are resting?" if she is an actress she will know what this means..... and if you don't it is acting speak for "out of work, worried and in denial!"

Valentine,
Is she Russian cuz if her friend's name is Natasha/Nataly, that tells me she is Russian, which means high-maintenance. You have to keep them chasing you if you want to score with Russian birds (trying to fit in using English slang. Forgive me!).
