I dont roll with POW, I'm an okcupid guy. Gets me mad amounts of day 2s. General rules i follow are:
-Make your profile cocky but in a funny, semi ironic sort of way. Avoid saying much actual stuff about yourself, eg.
Things Im good at:

Flexing my enormous sexy muscles in the mirror, that way I can high-five myself and feel wicked awesome!
-It's more important that your pics make you look fun with a life than good looking.
-Don't avoid mention sex in your profile. Act like a cool, chill person. But have a dick.
-Messages should be short. 1-3 sentences. Be irreverant, but be relevant, tons of people spam girls with generic messages, so mentioning something from their profile ups the response rate. eg.
Okcupid in its infinite wisdom said we should hang out, and the sunglasses and the piercing are pure liquid awesome. So you work in Camden market, bong/ plastic bling merchant?
- Work in volume, many as possible without cutting into your life/game time. Reason for this is obvious
-Go for a meet up within about 3-4 messages max. Don't ask, just give them their number and tell them to text you.

I do all this with the iphone app when I'm commuting. Just organised a day 2 through this today, whoop de doo.
